It’s Monday and I have to say I am so happy it’s here! Thanksgiving was packed full of family fun and I am exhausted and ready for a fresh start, although this week may be as busy as the last :). Having a theme to follow helped me quickly create a card for today’s post.
I love creating Christmas Themed Paper Crafts! The color combinations are one of my favorite and the images always make me smile!
I decided to pull out one of my favorite Christmas Sets from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. Santa’s Sleigh Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Coordinating Santa’s Sleigh Framelits Dies. The card I had shared previously: Santa’s Sleigh Christmas Card is at the top of my list for favorite Christmas Cards. So I wanted to try this same set only in a more rustic theme. So I pulled out my Crumb Cake Cardstock and the Wood Textures DSP Stack and went to work.
I stamped the images in Tuxedo Black Momento Ink onto Crumb Cake Cardstock and colored them with my Stampin’ Blends Premier Alcohol Markers.
Tip: Be sure to crop the images with your Big Shot, Magnetic Platform and Coordinating Framelits Dies prior to coloring. This way if the first crop gets mucked up, you haven’t ruined an imaged you spent a lot of time coloring. I have learned the hard way :).
The card dimensions are 8 inches wide x 4 inches tall. I love the portrait orientation for cards that have a lot of images…especially ones that work well in a line.
I cut the Cherry Cobbler Cardstock 1/4 inch smaller than the Card Base (Crumb Cake). I took two matching pieces of the Wood Textures DSP, cut them both down to a 3 5/8 wide, making sure to get the same print for each piece. I then cut one piece down to 2 inches wide so that it would span the 7 3/8 inches needed. I used the cropped tree to cover my seam.
I colored each image with the following Stampin’ Blends:
- Star – Dark Daffodil Delight
- Tree – Light and Dark Old Olive, Bronze
- Sleigh – Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Bronze, Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler
- Reindeer – Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Bronze
- Presents – Dark Old Olive, Dark Cherry Cobbler
I stamped the Oh Joy Sentiment (from the Watercolor Christmas Stamp Set) in Basic Black Archival Ink onto Crumb Cake Cardstock then snipped it out with my Paper Snips. The Merry Christmas Wishes Sentiment (from Santa’s Sleigh) was also fussy cut with my Paper Snips.
I alternated Mini Glue Dots and Mini / Regular Stampin’ Dimensionals as my adheisve to give my card lots of dimension.

Fantastic card, Stesha. I adore the theme of your card and it’s rustic nature. I keep asking myself why I never purchased this stamp set? Very clever piecing the Wood Textures DSP for the background.
I am rustic at heart 😉 and I think my creations show that!
Stunning!!
