Pick a “B” Pals Blog Hop : Meet Lined Alphabet

Jun 13, 2018 | Birthday Cards, Pals Monthly Blog Hop | 3 comments

Welcome to the Pals June 2018 Blog Hop. This month we’re going to Pick a “B”. Projects for Babies, Birthdays or Brides, that is. Be on the lookout for creations using new products from the Stampin’ Up! 2018-2019 Annual Catalog!

You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Happy Birthday Card using the Lined Alphabet Bundle by Stampin' Up! From the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. Handmade card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot
Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Soft Seam Foam Cardstock to 6 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.  Score and fold at 4 1/4″.
  2. Using the Big Shot, Magnetic Platform & Layering Alphabet Edgelits Dies, crop “birthday” using a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock cut down the middle at 4 1/4″.
  3. Click to watch this video, from Stampin’ Up!, for tips on using the Layering Alphabet Edgelit Dies.
  4. Using an Aqua Painter, color the Shimmery White Cardstock with the following Classic Inks:  Top – Flirty Flamingo, Middle – Soft Sea Foam, Bottom – Coastal Cabana.
  5. Using a Clear Block C and the Lined Alphabet Photopolymer Stamps, stamp the letters as shown using StazOn Ink.
  6. Note: If you want perfect placement, I highly recommend using a Stamparatus – Stamp Positioning Tool.  I like the sketched look I obtained by double stamping the letters and not going for perfection.
  7. Adhere the pieces together as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then cut down to 2 3/4″ wide.  This makes the border one inch above and one inch below the letters.
  8. Cut an additional piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to 2 1/2″ x 2 3/4″.  Color with Aqua Painters to match the letters and adhere to the “Y” panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  9. Adhere to a piece of Basic Black Cardstock cut to 2 7/8″ x 6 1/8″ with Snail Adhesive.  Then adhere to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  10. Stamp the balloon bouquet (Hand Delivered Hostess Only Stamp Set) in StazOn Ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock.  Color as shown with an Aqua Painter (same colors as letters).  Crop with a Paper Snips and adhere as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  11. Using a Big Shot and Basic Black Cardstock, crop the Happy Birthday using the Happy Birthday Thinlit Die.  Snip apart with a Paper Snips and adhere the “Happy” with snipped to size Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  12. Add 3 Share What You Love Artisan Pearls for a final touch!

This is my first time playing with the all-new Lined Alphabet Bundle.  At first, I was reluctant about purchasing the Layering Alphabet Edgelit Dies, but now that I have them in hand and have used them, I can’t believe I ever second-guessed this purchase!  They are so very it!  I will be using these on upcoming scrapbook pages!  Stay tuned!

There are several different ways you can use this bundle and I highly recommend watching the video that Stampin’ Up! has released to help you understand the variety this bundle offers.  The font is fun and easy to mix and match. I love how well it works with the Happy Birthday Thinlits Die I used on this card.
The Share What You Love Artisan Pearls add the perfect touch to any project!  The array of color options makes it versatile and a great addition to your embellishment stash!

Stesha, this is amazing! I love the colors on this card, they remind me of cotton candy. It’s awesome how you placed the die cuts for the sentiment 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
