Stamp Review Crew Brings You: Sailing Home

Sailing Home Bundle from Stampin' Up! Graduation card created by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot for Stamp Review Crew #stampinup

Set Sail Graduation Card!

I was in need of a graduation card and as I skimmed the New Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalog for a stamp set or bundle that fit the bill, I realized the sentiments from the Sailing Home Bundle would work perfectly!  I had created the 6×6 card base a few weeks back and just never finished it.

So, when I sat down to create for the Stamp Review Crew hop, I started with a 6 x 6 canvas and graduation card in my mind.

Cut a piece of Night of Navy 12 x 12 Cardstock to 6 x 12.  Score and fold at 6″.

Cut a piece of Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper to 5 3/4 x 5 3/4.  Adhere with Snail Adhesive.

Cut a piece of Night of Navy Cardstock to 4 1/2 x 4 1/2.

Cut a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to 4 x 4.  Use a Stamping Sponge to apply Seaside Spray Classic Ink.

Temporarily adhere both pieces together with a small piece of washi tape and zip through a die-cutting machine tucked inside the High Sea 3D Embossing Folder.  Adhere  together and to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use the Stamparatus to stamp the lighthouse, 1 large, and 2 small sailboats in Night of Navy Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock.

Stamp the sentiments in Versamark Ink onto a piece of Night of Navy Cardstock that has been rubbed with an Embossing Buddy.  Cover with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, flick to remove the excess, and set with a Heat Tool.

Crop all images, sentiments, and die-cuts with a die-cutting machine and the coordinating dies from Smooth Sailing Dies.

Adhere all as shown with Snail Adhesive and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Cut a 3 inch piece of 3/8″ Denim Ribbon.  Fold in half and adhere together and between the Night of Navy and Shimmery White Cardstock with Mini Glue Dots.

What do you think?  Does this work as a graduation card?  Do you like blue tones?  My favorite colors are Teal (Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay) and Blues (Night of Navy, Blueberry Bushel).  What are your favorite colors?
