Stamp Review Crew Brings You: Good Morning Magnolia!

Perfect Parcel Die & Magnolia Lane Suite From Stampin' Up! Gift box from Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot!

Good Morning Magnolia – Perfect Parcel Gift Box

Ok, so I know I said it was coming soon, but it didn’t happen as soon as I thought.  FINALLY, I have made a creation using the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle, Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper, Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack,  Perfect Parcel Die, and the Story Label Punch.

Don’t they make an amazing team?  I love the colors of the Magnolia Lane Suite and I am so happy that they have Stampin’ Blends to match.  NOTE: Petal Pink Light & Dark Stampin’ Blends are currently on back order with an estimated stock date of August 19th!

Perfect Parcel Die & Magnolia Lane Suite From Stampin' Up! Gift box from Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot!

Crop two pieces of Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper, a die-cutting machine, and the die from the Perfect Parcel Dies.  NOTE:  Since the Designer Series Paper I used had hard lines, I made sure to crop the two pieces side-by-side to ensure they lined up properly when the box was assembled.

Fold each scoreline and set the fold (burnish) with a Bone Folder.

Add adhesive (I prefer Tear & Tape, but Multipurpose Liquid Glue works well too) to the tabs and the backside of the flap, as shown:

Adhere the center tabs together, making sure to line up the score lines on each piece.

Fold the box as shown below, line-up the score lines, and adhere.

Adhere the flaps (adhesive added in Step 3) to the adjacent piece as shown.  Once adhered, gently push in on the center of the box until it “snaps” and the box shape forms. You may have to do a little adjusting.

Flip the box over to the top side and fold in the flaps and top pieces as shown in the photo.

Tuck the flaps into the tabs on each side

Now that your box is fully assembled, it should look like this:

Now it’s time to decorate:

Wrap the center of the box with both the 3/8″ Linen Ribbon and Mossy Meadow Linen Thread. I put a simple knot in the Linen Ribbon and did a double bow of Linen Thread that I adhered with a Mini Glue Dot.

Stamp the small magnolia flower (Good Morning Magnolia) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock.  Color with Light & Dark Petal Pink and Light & Dark Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends.  Crop with a die-cutting machine and the coordinating die from Magnolia Memory Dies. Adhere as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp the sentiment (Good Morning Magnolia) in Jet Black Stazōn Ink onto a piece of Vellum Cardstock.  Allow to dry, then crop with the Story Label Punch.  Use the Story Label Punch to crop one more piece of Vellum Cardstock and a piece of Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper.  Use two Silver Metallic Basic Brads to hold the three pieces together.  (I doubled up on the vellum so that the sentiment was easier to read).  Adhere to the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Perfect Parcel Die & Magnolia Lane Suite From Stampin' Up! Gift box from Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot!

The photo below gives you a good view of how tall the box is.  The finished box size is 3 1/2″ x 2 1/8″ x 1 3/8″, which just so happens to fit a gift card perfectly tucked inside along with something small.

Be sure to hop along (back or foward) to see all the amazing creations that the Stamp Review Crew has created using the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle!

#tgifc220 Sketch Challenge – Beautiful Friendship Wedding Card

TGIFC220 Sketch Challenge Beautiful Friendship Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot

TGIF! It’s Time for a Sketch Challenge!
Welcome to another TGIF Challenge.  It’s been awhile since I have participated.  I had a bit of creative time so I decided to join in on the sketch challenge this week.

I don’t often use Blackberry Bliss for a card base color, but it paired well with the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper.  Adding a touch of Vellum Cardstock softened the look a bit more and I think the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set complimented the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper.

Cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score and fold at 4 1/4.

Cut a piece of Vellum Cardstock to 5 1/4 x 4 1/4.

Cut a piece of Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper to 5 1/8 x 4.

Use a die-cutting machine and the scalloped edge die from the Stitched Be Mine Dies to crop the edges of both the Vellum Cardstock and Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper.  Adhere together with Snail Adhesive and to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use the Stamparatus to stamp the trio of flowers in Blackberry Bliss Ink onto Vellum Cardstock.  Stamp the leaves (three of each) in Granny Apple Green Ink onto Vellum Cardstock.  Cover with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder, flick to remove the excess and set with a Heat Tool. Snip with Paper Snips.

Use a die-cutting machine to crop the leaves using the leaf die from the Detailed Bands Dies. Snip in half with a Paper Snips.

Layer and adhere all images together and to the card with Mini Glue Dots.

Rub a piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock with an Embossing Buddy.  Stamp the sentiment (Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set) in Versamark Ink.  Cover with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, flick to remove the excess and set with a Heat Tool.  Use the scalloped edge die from the Stitched Be Mine Dies to crop the sentiment to size.  Adhere to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use a Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere Pretty Peacock Woven Thread Sequins as shown.

A little background on Stampin’ Up!’s Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper:

What’s the next best thing to having one of Claude Monet’s paintings hanging in your home? Stampin’ Up!’s Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper! One of Stampin’ Up!’s product designers, Julie Alusa, went to New York and was so inspired by Monet’s works of art, she decided to paint her own masterpiece. In her own words: “While I was admiring Monet’s massive water lily paintings at the Museum of Modern Art and Metropolitan, I was inspired to do a Monet-esque page in the Designer Series Paper of impressionistic water lilies.” So now you can have a little taste of Monet with this beautiful Designer Series Paper. Hand-painted and gorgeous, this paper will go great with any project—even if it’s just for yourself!

A little tip for stamping on Vellum Cardstock:  I love the look of stamping on vellum, but ink takes a while to dry and sometimes just doesn’t set.  How to I fix this?  I stamp on Vellum Cardstock with any color of Stampin’ Up! Classic Ink, cover the stamped image with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and set it with a Heat Tool!  Voila,  you now have a colored image that cannot smear and has a little added touch of texture.

Pals Blog Hop: Mixing It Up With Walruses

Pals Blog Hop July 2019 Stesha Bloodhart. Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Welcome to the Pals’ July  Blog Hop! We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects that are “Mixing It Up” –  adding texture that will really take your projects up a notch – or two! You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

We'll Walrus be Friends Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Card by 2019 Artisan Stesha Bloodhart Stampin' Hoot!

As I stumbled upon the We’ll Walrus Be Friends Stamp Set in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, I just knew I had to have it!  The adorable images and pun-worthy phrases brought an instant smile to my face and a laugh out loud chuckle. I hope that my creation does the same to you.  My “Mixing It Up” comes from the High Seas 3D Embossing Folder, which was stepped-up with some Classic Ink and an Aqua Painter.

Cut a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock to 4 1/4 x 11.  Score and fold at 5 1/2.

Zip a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of Vellum Cardstock through a die-cutting machine tucked inside the High Seas 3D Embossing Folder.   Adhere to the card base with Snail Adhesive added to the center (to keep it hidden).

Zip a 4 x 4 3/4 piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper through a die-cutting machine tucked inside the High Seas 3D Embossing Folder.  Adhere to a 4 1/8 x 4 7/8 piece of Basic Black Cardstock with Snail Adhesive. Use an Aqua Painter, Seaside Spray & Pacific Point Classic Inks to add color to the watercolor paper.  After the color has dried completely, flick droplets of water from an Aqua Painter onto the watercolor paper.  Wait 30 seconds, then soak up the droplets with a paper towel.

Use the largest Stitched Nested Label Die to crop a piece of Vellum Cardstock.  Fold in half, wrap with White Solid Baker’s Twine and adhere to the top of the watercolor paper (Snail Adhesive on the backside, Stampin’ Dimensionals on the frontside, placed strategically to hide behind the walruses.   Secure the baker’s twine with a bow.  Adhere to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use the Stamparatus to stamp the walruses and fish in Jet Black Stazōn Ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock.  Color with an Aqua Painter and the following Classic Inks:  Seaside Spray & Pacific Point (ice/water), Soft Suede (walruses), Mango Melody (fish), & Smoky Slate (seagull). Snip with Paper Snips and adhere as shown…Stampin’ Dimensionals for the Walruses and Mini Glue Dots for the fish.

Stamp the sentiment in Versamark Ink onto a piece of Basic Black Cardstock that has been rubbed with an Embossing Buddy. Cover with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, flick to remove the excess and set with a Heat Tool. Snip to size and separate.  Adhere as shown with Snail Adhesive.

We'll Walrus be Friends Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Card by 2019 Artisan Stesha Bloodhart Stampin' Hoot!

I absolutely love how the color in the waves turned out.  Don’t be afraid to mix color on the canvas and also add drops of water to lighten it up or create a cool effect.  If I were to create this card again, I think I would stamp the fish directly on the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  This is a new item to Stampin’ Up! and I have to say it is a dream to work with.  It doesn’t warp, it cuts like butter, and it grabs color like a sponge.  I am so happy that I ordered it!

We'll Walrus be Friends Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Card by 2019 Artisan Stesha Bloodhart Stampin' Hoot!

I love the subtleness of the Vellum Cardstock.  Even though you can see much of it on the card base (it’s peeking out the edges, embossed with waves) or the Stitched Nested Label at the top (a placeholder for the gang of walruses) it adds just the right touch to my project.

The Gold Metallic Pearls add such a pop to the flower centers, don’t you think?  How can such a little thing present such an added touch?  Do you have the Metallic Pearls in your embellishment stash?  Mine have been getting quite the workout.  I will need to replenish them soon!

Use a paper trimmer to cut piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to 4 1/4 x 11.  Score and fold at 5 1/2.

Adhere a 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to the card base with Snail Adhesive.

Cut a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to 3 3/4 x 5.  Apply a watercolor wash with an Aqua Painter and Calypso Coral Ink.  Use the Aqua Painter to apply water splatter to the dried watercolor wash, soaking it up with a Paper Towel after 30 seconds.

Zip a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock through a die-cutting machine, tucked inside the Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder.  Crop with the largest Stitched Nested Label Die. Score the top portion right at the edges where the point meets.  Adhere the flap to the backside of the watercolor wash piece with Snail Adhesive.  Adhere to the front side with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use the Stamparatus to stamp the following images in Jet Black Stazōn Ink onto the new Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper:

    • Large Bird
    • Birds On Branch
    • Two Larger Flowers
    • Two Small Flowers
    • Two Flower Buds
    • Three Leaf Stems

Color the images with an Aqua Painter and the following Classic Ink Colors:  Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow, Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody, and Calypso Coral. Snip all images with a Paper Snips. Adhere as shown with Snail Adhesive, Mini and Regular Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Add Gold Metallic Pearls to flower centers and the Nested Label as shown.

Rub a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock with an Embossing Buddy.  Stamp the two sentiments (Genuine Gems & Itty Bitty Greetings; Note, I masked the “sent” on the sent with love stamp so that only “with love” stamped.  Cover with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, flick to remove the excess and set with a Heat Tool.  Snip the “so sorry” to size with Paper Snips. Adhere with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Cut the “with love” to 3/4 x 2 (leaving the sentiment near the top).  Flag the end with the Tailored Tag Punch.  Adhere with Snail Adhesive.

Free As A Bird Bundle by Stampin' Up! Card by 2019 Artisan Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot!

I previously created a journal and pillow box gift using the Free As A Bird Suite as part of my 2019 Artisan Design Team Corporate Blog Post.  I shared these creations (below) on a blog post here.  When I created those, I colored several of the images from the Free As A Bird set.  I used those to quickly create the card I am sharing with you today.  I decided to use white as my canvas instead of the crumb cake I used previously.

When I created the flagged sentiment for the top of the card (with love), I masked the “sent” using washi tape, so that when I stamped the sentiment it only displayed “with love”.  You have so many more sentiment options when you are able to mask a part of the stamp.

The new Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper is a dream to work with.  It colors nicely and cuts like butter, which makes it easy on the hands.  Have you tried the new Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper yet?

Free as a Bird Journal & Pillow Box Gift

Stesha Bloodhart _ Corp Blog Post_ Free As A Bird_Stampin' Up!

Hi Everyone!  Today I am sharing with you two creations with one of my favorite stamp sets from the 2019-2020 Annual catalog. I love coloring birds with a variety of coloring mediums.  The two creations below used the new Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper (item 149612), which is heavenly to color and fussy cut!

I decided to stick with a Crumb Cake palette and opted to use the new Pressed Petals Journal (item 149588) and the returning Kraft Pillow Boxes (item 147018) as my canvas.  Petal Pink pairs perfectly with Crumb Cake, and the new Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (item 149592) just so happens to have a Petal Pink design that was befitting.

Stesha Bloodhart _ Corp Blog Post_ Free As A Bird_Stampin' Up!

My Kraft Pillow Box was wrapped with a 2 x 6 ¾” piece of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, adhered together with Tear & Tape Adhesive (item 138995).  I then wrapped two pieces of Very Vanilla 3/8” Scalloped Lace Trim (item 149593), facing opposite directions, and secured in place with Mini Glue Dots (item 103683). Using a Stamparatus (item 146276), I stamped all images from the Free As A Bird Stamp Set (item 149468) in Jet Black Stazōn Ink (item 101406) onto a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  TIP: Using the Stamparatus allows you to stamp the image multiple times (I stamped them twice) until the desired ink coverage is obtained.

Stesha Bloodhart _ Corp Blog Post_ Free As A Bird_Stampin' Up!

I used an Aqua Painter (item 103954) and the following Classic Ink Stampin’ Pads to add color to the images:  Crumb Cake (item 147116), Early Espresso (item 147114), Pear Pizzazz (item 147104), Mossy Meadow (item 147111), Coastal Cabana (item 147097), Mango Melody (item 147093), and Calypso Coral (item 147101).  After coloring each image and allowing them to dry completely, I think snipped the images with a Paper Snips (item 103579).  I assembled and adhered them as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals (item 104430) and Mini Glue Dots.

I rubbed a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock (item 119686) with an Embossing Buddy (item 103083), then used a Clear Block A (item 118487) to stamp the sentiment in Versamark Ink (item 102283).  I then covered it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder (item 109132), flicked the cardstock to remove the excess and set it with a Heat Tool (item 129053).  I snipped it with a Paper Snips and adhere with a snipped-to-size Mini Stampin’ Dimensional (item 144108).

I then added several Gold Metallic Pearls (item 146282) to flower centers and two Bird Ballad Trinkets (item 149594) as a final touch.

Stesha Bloodhart _ Corp Blog Post_ Free As A Bird_Stampin' Up!

My Pressed Petals Journal was adorned with so many fabulous products. First, I adhered a 3 x 5 ¼” piece of Early Espresso Cardstock to the back of a 4 x 5” Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper with Snail Adhesive. I then wrapped it with two pieces of Very Vanilla 3/8” Scalloped Lace Trim (facing opposite directions) and secured in place with Mini Glue Dots.  This adhered to the Pressed Petals Journal with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper to 3 x 4” and adhered it to a 3 1/8” x 4 1/8” piece of Early Espresso Cardstock.  I added watercolor wash background using an Aqua Painter and Coastal Cabana Classic Ink.  After allowing it to dry completely, I wrapped two loops of Linen Thread on the right-hand side, securing it with a bow. I then adhered it to the journal with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stesha Bloodhart _ Corp Blog Post_ Free As A Bird_Stampin' Up!

I cropped a piece of Vellum Cardstock (item 101856) using a die-cutting machine and the 3 ¼” wide Stitched Nested Labels Die (item 149638). I adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals, strategically placed so they remained hidden behind the birds. I stamped, colored and snipped the images the same as I did with the Kraft Pillow Box (above).

I rubbed a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock with an Embossing Buddy, then used a Clear Block G (item 118489) to stamp the “Enjoy Today” sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia Cling Stamp Set (item 149298) in Versamark Ink.  I then covered it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, flicked the cardstock to remove the excess and set it with a Heat Tool.  I snipped it with a Paper Snips and adhered with Snail Adhesive.

Again, I added several Gold Metallic Pearls to flower centers and three Bird Ballad Trinkets as a final touch.

I hope I have inspired you to create little handmade gifts embellished with phenomenal Stampin’ Up! Products.

Be Inspired Blog Hop June 2019: Happy Mail

Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop Header

Welcome to the Be Inspired Blog Hop!

This month’s theme is…..Happy Mail!  I decided to make a card for a friend that just had a baby.  I used the Wildly Happy Cling Stamp Set.

Wildly Happy Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Baby Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot!

Simple images that can be stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends!

I used the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper as the background with a piece of Vellum Cardstock over the top to soften it up a wee bit more.

I added some Glitter Enamel Dots and Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine for just the right touch.

I snipped the elephants with a Paper Snips and cropped two “clouds” with the Pretty Label Punch.

The line art of these images makes it easy to add color with just the right placement for shading.  I colored the elephants with Smoky Slate Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends. Easy Peasy.
