Country Home Happy Card & 10% Off Coming Soon!

Country Home Stamp Set from the 2018 Holiday Catalog by Stampin' Up! Card created by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

My 2nd to last card to share with you from my craft retreat back in October!  Country Home has by far been one of my favorite stamp sets.  I have always been a fan of rustic and country themed decor, so this set speaks to me on so many levels.  I decided I needed to try a purple, I don’t use enough purple!

Step-by-Step Instructions:  COMING SOON!

Lemon Lime Twist and Gorgeous Grape make a perfect match.  I love the Mini Ruffled Ribbon, available in the 2017-2019 In-Colors!  It looks great just folded and tucked behind a focal point, as shown my card here.

Of course, I had to smooch my background, one of my favorite and most-used background techniques. Don’t know what the smooching technique is?  You can download my step-by-step tutorial here:  Smooching Technique

This time I used Shimmery White Cardstock for my floral and milk can images & watercolored them with an Aqua Painter and Stampin’ Up! Classic Inks. The trick for a great watercolor look is to add color in thin layers, allow it to dry completely and then add more color for depth and shading.

Accented Blooms Beautiful Hello Card

Accented Blooms Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Hello Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

This was the first time I inked up the Accented Blooms Stamp Set and I LOVE it!  I created this card during my retreat back in October, so I went with fall-themed colors, do you like?  I think it would look just as beautiful in holiday colors such as Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce, & Daffodil Delight!

Accented Blooms Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Hello Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″.  Score and fold at 5 1/2″.
  2. Cut a piece of Soft Suede Cardstock to 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″. Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  3. Cut a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to 3 3/4″ x 5″.  Smooch with Soft Suede and Daffodil Delight Ink.  (See smooching instructions here)
  4. Create a notch at the top left with the Daisy Punch to hold the Linen Thread in place.  Wrap three loops and secure with a bow. Adhere to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  5. Stamp the floral image in Versamark Ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock.  Cover with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, flick to remove excess, then set with a Heat Tool. Color with an Aqua Painter and the following classic ink colors: Mango Melody, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green. Snip closely with a Paper Snips.  Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  6. Stamp the “Hello” sentiment in Soft Suede Ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock. Blend with an Aqua Painter.  Crop with the Tailored Tag Punch.  Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  7. Add 5 Rhinestone Basic Jewels, colored with the Bronze Stampin’ Blends Marker for the final touch!
Accented Blooms Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Hello Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

One of my favorite techniques is embossing with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and watercolor in the image.  Having the lines embossed makes it so much easier to color the image and stay within the thin lines.

Accented Blooms Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Hello Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

I love that we can color most all embellishments with our Stampin’ Blends to make them custom to match our creations.  I must say, I am kind of obsessed with coloring them.  It just makes them so versatile to have in any color I need.

Stampin’ Blends are my DOUBLE Hoot Loot for the month of November. Place an order of $50+ with my host code (right sidebar of my blog) and you receive TWO, yes TWO Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs of YOUR CHOICE! An $18 value!

#tgifc169 Blended Seasons & Heat Embossing

Blended Seasons Bundle by Stampin' Up! Heat Embossed Card created by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #tgifc169 #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Happy Friday! TGIFC169

It’s Friday and time for a Technique!  This month’s technique is Heat Embossing.  I decided to showcase the upcoming, limited release, Color Your Season products, available August 1, 2018.  I love this floral image and decided to indulge in the new colors from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2, available as part of this release.

Blended Seasons Bundle by Stampin' Up! Heat Embossed Card created by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #tgifc169 #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″.  Score and fold at 5 1/2″.
  2. Cut a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″.  Stamp the floral image on top and bottom (rotating it 180 degrees within the Stamparatus) in Versamark Ink.  Cover in Whisper White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and set with a Heat Tool.
  3. Color the floral images with Watercolor Pencils and blend with a Blender Pen.
  4. Crop a piece of Granny Apple Green & a piece of Vellum Cardstock with the smallest Stitched Season Framelit Die.  Adhere together with a Mini Glue Dot.
  5. Apply a strip of Snail Adhesive to the backside and add several loops of Rose Metallic Thread.  Adhere to card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  6. Add Share What You Love Artisan Pearls as shown for a special touch.

I used the Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, Flirty Flamingo, Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry Watercolor Pencils.  All but Rich Razzleberry are from the Assortment 2 pack available August 1st.  They blend nicely with a Blender Pen!  The lines just disappear.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″.  Score and fold at 5 1/2″.
  2. Cut a piece of the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. Adhere at a slight slant with Snail Adhesive.
  3. Cut a piece of Rich Razzleberry Cardstock to 3 3/4″ x 5″. Adhere two 3 3/4″ strips of ribbon to the end as shown.  Adhere at a slant with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  4. Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to 3 1/2″ x 4 5/8″.  Ink up the background stamp (Love What You Do Stamp Set) in Rich Razzleberry Ink and stamp as shown.
  5. Stamp the trio flower image in Basic Black Archival Ink and then onto the Rich Razzleberry background.
  6. Use the Stamparatus to line up the trio flower image to the one you just stamped.  Stamp again using Versamark Ink.  Add Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and set with a Heat Tool.
  7. Adhere Metallic Sequins as shown using a Fine-Tip Glue Pen.
  8. Stamp the “I’m Lucky..sentiment in Versamark Ink onto Basic Black Cardstock.  Add White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, set with a Heat Tool.
  9. Crop the sentiment with a Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, and the Stitched Circle Framelit Die.
  10. Add two strips of Snail Adhesive to the back of the cropped sentiment.  Adhere Basic Black Metallic Thread as shown. Adhere to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Love What You Do Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! #OnStage2018 Display Board Sample. Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

The Stamparatus is the perfect tool to align an image for a “double stamp”.  I wanted to emboss the trio of flowers outline, so I first stamped it in Basic Black.  Then I used the Stamparatus to perfectly align the stamp to apply Versamark Ink directly over the Basic Black.  Add your embossing powder, set with a Heat Tool and your done!

The Stamp Review Crew Brings Eastern Beauty

Eastern Beauty Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Colored with Stampin' Blends for the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot #easternbeauty #stampreviewcrew #stampinblends

Welcome to another blog hop with Stamp Review Crew!  Today’s featured stamp set is the beautiful Eastern Beauty!

The Stamp Review Crew Brings You: Eastern Beauty Stamp Set

Eastern Beauty Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Colored with Stampin' Blends for the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot #easternbeauty #stampreviewcrew #stampinblends

So I am a little obsessed with the New Stampin’ Blends and try to incorporate them into as many projects as I can….cause, let’s face it, I just can’t get enough of them!  So when I grabbed the Eastern Beauty Stamp Set, I envisioned something that I could color…and so my card was born!

Eastern Beauty Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Colored with Stampin' Blends for the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot #easternbeauty #stampreviewcrew #stampinblends

The focal point of my card uses three stamps from the Eastern Beauty Stamp Set. Tip: Make sure to use Tuxedo Black Momento Ink and Whisper White Thick Cardstock when using Stampin’ Blends.  I started with the flower petal-like image and then added the dots around the outside.  Once that was complete, I grabbed the largest circle framelit die from Layering Circles pack and quickly cropped it out with the assistance of my Big Shot and Magnetic Platform. I decided that the inside of the petal-like image needed a little boost, so I added the additional image.  You can see them in the product photo below.

Eastern Beauty Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Colored with Stampin' Blends for the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot #easternbeauty #stampreviewcrew #stampinblends

I colored the focal point with the following Stampin’ Blends (from the middle of the image, out): Light Pumpkin Pie, Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Pool Party, Dark Pool Party, Light Bermuda Bay, Dark Bermuda Bay, Light Calypso Coral, Dark Calypso Coral.

Eastern Beauty Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Colored with Stampin' Blends for the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot #easternbeauty #stampreviewcrew #stampinblends

I used Bermuda Bay Cardstock as my base, cut to 4.25 in x 11 in and scored/folded at 5.5 in.  I then layered Basic Black Cardstock cut 1/8 in smaller at 4 1/8 in x 5 3/8 in., adhering it to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I took Shimmery White Cardstock and added Bermuda Bay Ink using the Paper Smooching Technique.  (Download the Tutorial Here). I added the focal point, laying Calypso Coral 1/8 in. Sheer Ribbon behind it, prior to adhering it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then stamped the two sentiments in Basic Black Archival Ink and added Black Rhinestone Jewels as a final touch.
