TGIF! It’s Time for Color Challenge!
Welcome to another TGIF Challenge, this week it’s time for some color combination inspiration! The combination of Basic Black, Merry Merlot and Very Vanilla turns out to be STUNNING! What a fabulous combination!
I decided to use the all-new Christmas Gleaming Bundle from the 2019 Holiday Catalog, which went live on Wednesday, September 4th!

Cut a piece of Basic Black Cardstock to 4 1/4 x 11. Score and fold at 5 1/2.
Zip a 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 piece of Basic Black Cardstock through a die-cutting and embossing machine tucked inside the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Cut a piece of Merry Merlot and Very Vanilla Cardstock to 3 1/4 x 4 1/2. Zip the Very Vanilla through the die-cutting and embossing machine tucked inside the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere the two pieces together and to the card as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp the images and sentiment in Versamark Ink onto a piece Shimmery White Cardstock that has been rubbed with an embossing buddy. Cover with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder, flick to remove the excess and set with a Heat Tool. Crop with two ornaments with the coordinating Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack. Snip the sentiment and holly with Paper Snips. Color with an Aqua Painter, Merry Merlot Classic Ink and a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. Adhere as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots.
Add 6 Black Dots from the Monster Bash Enamel Shapes, as shown.
When coloring the ornaments, add a light layer of color to the entire image, leaving a small area untouched. Allow to dry and continue to add shading to certain areas to deepen the color.
For the holly leaves, I grabbed color with an Aqua Painter from the bursh-tip of a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. Be sure not to use too much water with the black or it will show a pinkish hue.
