TGIF! It’s Time for a Product Spotlight!
Welcome to another TGIF Challenge, this week it’s time for a product spotlight! Washi Tape and Baker’s Twine!  I love them both, but definitely do not incorporate washi tape enough into my creations, so I was happy for a challenge that forced me to use it!  I am slowly checking off unused items from my list…yay!

One of my favorite color combinations is Lemon Lime Twist and Basic Black.  I chose the Broadway Bound Designer Series Paper first, then paired it with the Black Foil Sheet from the 2018 Holiday Catalog!  I think it was a perfect match for a gender neutral birthday card.

#tgifc180 Color Challenge
What a beautiful color challenge that TGIFC has for you!  Who knew Malon Mambo, Mango Melody, Coastal Cabana, and Black went sooooo well together!  I would have never paired them on my own, so I am always so excited for a new color combination….especially when the result is amazing!

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″.  Score and fold at 5 1/2″.
  2. Stamp 7 petals (Pop of Petals Bundle) in Jet Black StazOn. Crop with the coordinating Four-Petal Flower Punch. Snip each one in half.

  7. Stamp the 3 flower image in JetBlack Stazon onto Shimmery White Cardstock.  Snip the two smaller images with a Paper Snips.  Color with Mango Melody Ink and an Aqua Painter.  Adhere to the center of two flowers with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

When creating a watercolor wash background, be sure to follow a few steps to ensure you can a nice even coverage of ink (no dark ink spots).  First, apply water only from your Aqua Painter.  Not a lot, just a small squeeze and make sure you keep it in the area you want to cover.  This creates a map for the ink to follow and spread, ensuring you do not have a dark ink blotch where your Aqua Painter first touches the paper.  Keep a paper towel close to dab excess water from both your Aqua Painter and the Shimmery White or Watercolor Paper.

Stampin’ Dimensionals are a MUST in my craft room. I continually create cards with dimension and Stampin’ Dimensionals make that dimension come to life.  I also need my Aqua Painters…I love the soft watercolor look that Aqua Painters help to create and my style wouldn’t be what it is without them.  What is your must-have item in your craft room?

Stamp & Punch bundles ensure quick and easy cards or crafts with dimension.  I know that fussy cutting is not for everyone, even though it is a therapy for me.  I thrive on a fussy cut card.  If you are not big on fussy cutting and don’t want to get out a Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, then punches are the way to go.  Stampin’ Up! has stepped up their offering on punches that coordinate with stamps.  Pop of Petals is one of them.

Making Every Day Bright & Christmas Bulb Builder Punch by Stampin' Up! Create Your Own Background Challenge TGIFC179. Card created by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

TGIF! It’s Time for a Technique!
Welcome to #TGIFC179!  This week it’s time for a C.Y.O.B.(Create Your Own Background) Technique.  I have been eyeing up the Making Every Day Bright Stamp set and that cute little light bulb with the spider & web…I decided to use that to create a background.  Although this card is not a favorite of mine (I think I would have done some things a little differently) I decided to still share it with you.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Basic Black Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″.  Score and fold at 5 1/2″.
  2. Cut a piece of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock to 4″ x 5 1/4″.  Adhere as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  3. Cut a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to 4″ x 5 1/4″.  Stamp the light strings and light bulb in Jet Black StazOn Ink, alternating placement for each row.  Color with an Aqua Painter using Gorgeous Grape & Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Pads (ink from the cover). Adhere as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  4. Stamp 4 additional light bulbs and 16 light bulb caps and crop with the coordinating Christmas Bulb Builder Punch.  Color with an Aqua Painter using Daffodil Delight & Gorgeous Grape Stampin’ Pads (ink from the cover). Adhere the light bulbs with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the caps with Snail Adhesive.
  5. Cut a piece of Basic Black Cardstock to 3″ x 1/2″.  Flag the end with the Banner Triple Punch. Stamp the “Happy Halloween” sentiment in Versamark Ink, cover with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, flick away the excess and set with a Heat Tool.
  6. Cut a 6″ piece of Black Organdy Glittered Ribbon & Black Cord.  Fold in half, staple to the end of the flagged sentiment and adhere to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  7. Adhere two Spider Trinkets as shown with Mini Glue Dots.

If I were to duplicate this card, I think I would change up the colors of the light bulbs.  I think I would l make the entire bulb the same color and alternate them as Gorgeous Grape, Daffodil Delight, and Pumpkin Pie. Keep the color a little on the lighter side.  What do you think?  What would you do differently?

I absolutely LOVE white embossed sentiments on Basic Black Cardstock, it just makes them pop so much more than black on white.

The Black Organdy Glittered Ribbon is phenomenal and one of my favorites.  And let us not forget about those adorable Spider Trinkets!  The perfect addition to any Halloween card or craft!

Happy Friday! TGIFC178

It’s Friday and time for a Theme!  This month’s theme is Holiday Prep. Since the next holiday coming up is Halloween, and one of my favorites, I decided to create a little Spooky Treat Mini Pizza Box.  Gorgeous Grape is my favorite purple and works perfectly for Halloween.

  2. Cut a piece of Black 5/8″ Organdy Glittered Ribbon and wrap around the Mini Pizza Box, securing with a bow.
  3. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut two 1 1/4″ x 6″ strips of Daffodil Delight Cardstock. It has been FOREVER since I created a 3-D Item…I get caught up in cards and forget how fun they are to create.  The Mini Pizza Box is perfect for a quick and easy gift package for any occasion.  Color coordinate it to your liking by adding ink with a Sponge Brayer and setting it with a Heat Tool.

Click on the image below to view or purchase the Spooky Sweets Bundle from my online store.

I love creating rosettes and the Simple Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder makes it that much easier (thanks to a tip from Artisan and friend, Connie Collins). Don’t have the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder?  The Simply Scored Tool works well and doesn’t limit you on the sizes of your rosette.  A hot glue gun is the best adhesive to keep the rosette neat and tidy.

Beautiful Baubles Bundle by Stampin' Up! for #tgifc177 Sketch Challenge, Christmas Card created by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

I have a feeling this Beautiful Baubles Bundle is going to be a sleeper set, but I knew I had to have it when I laid eyes on it.  I hadn’t used the new shimmer paint yet, and had an idea to create a bulb in copper…so my card was born…and Bermuda Bay and Copper just happen to be a favorite combination of mine!  All you have to do is take a peek at my jewelry 🙂 .

The Share What You Love Artisan Pearls were the perfect addition to the bulb.  Tranquil Tide was close enough to Bermuda Bay (watercolor) that even though it was not an exact match in color, they still coordinated well.

#tgifc176 Color Challenge – Meet Country Home

TGIF! It’s time to meet Country Home!
Welcome to another TGIF Challenge, this week it’s time for some amazing color!  Early Espresso, Coastal Cabana, and Pumpkin Pie make for a fabulous country color feel!  I immediately thought of the new Country Home Stamp Set from the 2018 Holiday Catalog when I saw the challenge!

Country Home Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Simply Thankful Card by Stesha Bloodhart for the TGIF Challenge #tgifc176 #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″.  Score and fold at 5 1/2″.
  2. Using a Stamparatus and Early Espresso Ink, stamp the Buffalo Check Background Stamp onto Coastal Cabana cardstock.  Cut down to 4″ x 5 1/4″.  Adhere as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Trim the excess edges with a Paper Snips so they line up with the card base.
  3. With a Paper Snips, cut a Chicken Wire Element to 7 loops wide.
  4. Stamp the sentiment (from the Country Home Stamp Set) in Early Espresso onto Coastal Cabana Cardstock two times.  Snip the Thankful out, closely, with a Paper Snips. Adhere over the top of the 2nd stamped image with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Crop, slight offset, with a Big Shot and the large Stitched Oval Framelit Die.  Adhere to the Chicken Wire and card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  5. Stamp the Milk Can & Flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Whisper White Thick Cardstock.  Color with the following Stampin’ Blends:  Soft Suede Combo, Bronze, Smoky Slate Combo, Pumpkin Pie Combo, Light Pool Party, Light Bermuda Bay. If you haven’t noticed, I love to fussy cut…I would say it is my therapy.  So this card I decided to fussy cut the milk can and floral image, and also snipped the thankful from the sentiment!  I gave it a pop by adhering it with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I highly recommend the Stamparatus (stamp positioning tool)!  It helps ensure you get a perfectly stamped image by allowing you to stamp multiple times..  I stamped the Buffalo Check image three times to get the coverage I needed.

Country Home is a photopolymer stamp set that is part of the Country Lane Suite of products from the 2018 Holiday Catalog.  Pairing it with the Buffalo Check Background Stamp is a match made in heaven!  I am a country girl at heart and also #madforplaid so both of these stamps sets speak to me in so many levels.
