tgifc347 Project Challenge – Double Slider Gift Card Holder

Create this Double Slider Gift Card Holder with the Be Jolly Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot tgifc347

TGIF! It’s time for a project challenge – Gift Card Holder.

I wanted to create something interactive and fun, so I scoured the blog of fellow Stampin’ Pretty Pal and my friend, Julie DiMatteo, aka The Paper Pixie.  She did a fabulous job showing how to create a double slider gift card holder, so I took a shot at it…I was pleasantly surprise at how easy this was to make.  You can see her original blog post, along with her video tutorial here

tgifc347 Project Challenge - Gift Card Holder

my step by step free hootorial

Begin with a 3 3/4 x 7 3/4 piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock.  Score along the 7 3/4 side at 3/8, 2 7/8, and 5 3/8.

Burnish the folds with a Bone Folder.  Crop the center of top and bottom of the end fold with the Essential Tag Punch. (see Julie’s video for instructions)

Cut a piece of Basic White Cardstock to 2 1/4 x 3 1/2.  Adhere a 2 1/8 x 3 3/8 piece of Basic White Cardstock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Stamp the sentiment (Christmas to Remember) in Cherry Cobbler Ink onto the bottom as shown.

Cut a piece of Basic White Cardstock to 2 1/4 x 4 1/4.  Crop the top with the Fancy Tag Topper Punch (see Julie’s video on how to crop the larger width piece).

Assemble and adhere together the Double Slider Gift Card holder as shown by Julie.  (I could not do a better job explaining than her).

My Own Touch:

Adhere a 2 3/8 x 2 7/8 piece of the Buffalo Plaid Pattern Party Designer Series Paper to the front and back panel of the gift card holder with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Use a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the 2 3/8 Layering Circle Die to crop a piece of Basic White Cardstock.  Cut 1/8 off for a straight edge and adhere as shown with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stamp the Santa in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a piece of Basic White Cardstock.

Color with the following Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs:  Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Petal Pink, Color Lifter

Snip out closely with Paper Snips.  Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp the “Joy” sentiment (Merriest Moments) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a 1 1/4 x 5/8 piece of Basic White Cardstock. Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Thread three pieces of Black & White 1/4 Gingham Ribbon through the tag topper, securing with a bow of White Baker’s Twine.

Embellish with Classic Matte Dots.

tgifc344 – Soft Pastels Spotlight with Words of Cheer

Create this card using Soft Pastels and Words of Cheer Bundle by Stampin' Up! Card by Stesha Bloodhart Stampin' Hoot!

TGIF! It’s time for a product spotlight – Soft Pastels.

This card was quite a struggle.  I really liked the look of the Soft Pastels on the black, but I had a heck of a time trying to figure out how to showcase the flowers.  I had a card created last Thursday and I couldn’t get myself to post it.  I made a few updates…and although it is still not a favorite of mine, I am happy to share it with everyone.

Have you given the Soft Pastels a try?  How did they work for you?

Create a Pumpkin with Watercolor Shapes – TGIFC335

Create this Thankful Card using the Watercolor Shapes Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! TGIFC335 Inspiration Challenge Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot!

TGIF! It’s time for an inspiration challenge!

Today, the TGIF Challenges Design Team is showcasing projects inspired by the challenge below.

As I was prepping for this challenge, I was astonished to find that I do not have a stamp set with a PUMPKIN in it!!! What??  So I had to get my creative brain in overdrive and figure out how I could create one with what I had on hand.  The pumpkin was simply created by stamping the largest oval 5 times, easy peasy. The Watercolor Shapes Stamp Set has so many possibilities. If it’s not currently in your stash, I highly recommend it.

156968

My card has lots of texture and distressing, but that’s what makes me love it so much!   I ran every piece, except my card base, through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine tucked inside the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.

TGIFC335 Inspiration Challenge

my step by step free hootorial

Begin with a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of Soft Suede Cardstock.  Score and fold at 5 1/2.

NOTE: ALL remaining pieces of cardstock are run through a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine tucked inside the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder prior to adhering to the card but after the stamping and die-cutting is complete.

NOTE: The edges of most pieces have been distressed with a bone folder or scissor edge and sponged with Soft Suede Ink.

Adhere the 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Zip a piece of Kraft Paper (or Soft Suede Cardstock) through a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine along with the Beautiful Leaves Die.  Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use the largest oval from the Watercolor Shapes Stamp Set to create the pumpkin, here’s how:

  • Using Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink, stamp the first oval onto a piece of Basic White Cardstock, this will be your center.
  • Mask that stamped image (cover with a post-it note that has been stamped and cut to size).
  • Stamp again on the left and on the right, moving a little higher than the center, but not the full width of the oval.
  • Do this one more time on both sides, moving your mask to cover the last image you just stamped.
  • Once you have stamped it five times, you should see the pumpkin.  Cut it out closely with Paper Snips.

Zip a piece of Old Olive Cardstock through a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine along with the three small Beautiful Leaves Dies.

Adhere the leaves to the front and back of the pumpkin with Mini Glue Dots. Adhere the pumpkin to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp the sentiment in Soft Suede Classic Ink onto a 2 3/4 x 1/2 piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Pull apart a piece of Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine into individual threads. Loosely tie those pieces into a bow and adhere as shown with a Mini Glue Dot.

Embellish with Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots.

Create this Thankful Card using the Watercolor Shapes Stamp Set by Stampin' Up TGIFC335 Inspiration Challenge Stesha Bloodhart Stampin' Hoot!

This card would look fabulous without adding the texture and distressing the edges.  I urge you to give it a try with and without to see which card you like better.  I like how texture and distressing help hide tiny flaws that you may otherwise see if you leave it clean.

TGIFC333 Sketch – Fun Fold with Cute Halloween

Batty For You Flamingo, Basic Gray and Basic Black Card for #tgifc333 Sketch Challenge Stesha Bloodhart

TGIF! It’s time for a sketch challenge!

Today, the TGIF Challenges Design Team is showcasing projects using the sketch shown below.

I have been pinning over those adorable bats on the Cute Halloween 6×6 Designer Series Paper. I love the colorful graphics with this paper and that they made the opposite side black and white.  It is one of my FAV Halloween Papers that Stampin’ Up! has released.

Frightfully Cute Die Bundle 156493 Stampin' Up! Order Online with Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot!

Be the funhouse this Halloween: Turn ho-hum trick-or-treat sweets into a delectable surprise with Frightfully Cute Bundle. This bundle includes the Frightfully Cute Stamp Set and the Frightful Tags Dies. Mix and match stamped images with die-cut shapes and tag pieces. Images are sized perfectly to fit on small chocolate bars or other sweets for trick-or-treaters.

FRIGHTFULLY CUTE CLING STAMP SET
Use the images on their own, or layer them to create a Halloween scene. Have fun mixing up the sentiments whether you’re feeling punny or you want to go for a more traditional Halloween greeting—this set has it all! Bold images make it easy to stamp in a single color, or stamp with VersaMark ink for a tone-on-tone look. Keep tags simple, or if you’re feeling fancy, add ribbons and embellishments until your project is frightfully cute.

FRIGHTFUL TAGS DIES
Create cute Halloween-themed tags and paper embellishments with the Frightful Tags Dies. This die set includes tag pieces and traditional Halloween imagery that can be mixed and matched for endless options. Layer the tree, stars, and fence images to create a small Halloween landscape. The owl image looks cute perched in the tree or on the fence. Or use the images on their own for simple tags. Some dies include embossed details, giving the die-cut piece more depth and dimension. The owl piece embosses some feathers, the tree embosses some bark details, and the hat embosses a buckle and some shading.

Begin with a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock.  Score at 2 1/4 and 6 3/8.  Fold both towards the center of the card (gatefold).

Adhere a 4 7/8 x 3 5/8 piece of Basic Gray Cardstock to a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Basic Black Cardstock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Adhere to the top gatefold flap with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Cut three 3/4 x 4 7/8 pieces of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock.  Adhere to the Basic Gray 1/2 inch in from the side, then 3/4 between each strip.

Use the brush end of a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to flick/splatter color onto the card.

Use the Frightful Tags circle die, along with a Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to crop both a Basic Black and a Basic White piece of cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto the white circle die-cut. Adhere together and to the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stamp the sentiment to the bottom inside flap of the gatefold.

Cut a 1 x 11 strip of Basic Black Cardstock.  Wrap around the card base as shown, creating a belly band.  Note: they will not connect together.

Crop a piece of Basic Black Cardstock with the Seasonal Labels Die (1 7/8 x 3 3/8) & Ribbon Slots Die. Thread Black & White Gingham Ribbon through the die-cut slots and around the belly band.  Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the right-center and left-center sides (you do not want to add dimensionals to the area that will contain the opening of the belly band; the belly band needs to slide).  Adhere to the belly band. Secure the ribbon with a bow.

Crop a piece of Basic White card stock with the 2 1/8 x 2 3/8 Seasonal Labels Die. Adhere as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut the bat images from the Cute Halloween 6×6 Designer Series Paper.  Adhere all as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Multipurpose Liquid Glue (small bat on the circle die-cut cannot be popped up).

Embellish with Matte Black Dots.
