TGIF! It’s time for a COLOR Challenge!
Brown and yellow with a pop of pink, definitely feels like spring to me. I have seen a few cards created with the ADORABLE Easter Friends Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! that I wanted to give it a shot. Shimmery White Cardstock, Classic Ink and a Water Painter led the way to this watercolored look. EASY PEASY, the stamp art does most of the work for you!
Soft Suede is my favorite brown, especially for watercolor. You can easily create depth with layers of ink. Love, Love, Love! Did you know that Bumblebee and Marvelous Magenta, part of the 2020-2022 In Colors are retiring soon? May 3, 2022 to be exact! Be sure to add these colors to your collection (if you haven’t already) before they are gone for good.

Begin by cutting a piece of Soft Suede Cardstock to 5 1/2 x 11. Score and fold at 5 1/2.
Cut a piece of Basic White Cardstock 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 and a 5 x 5 Bumblebee 2020-2022 In Color 6×6 Designer Series Paper. Distress the edges with a Bone Folders, Paper Snips or Distressing Tool. Fold in opposite corners and secure together with mini staples as shown.
Adhere to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Use a Stamparatus to stamp the following images onto Shimmery White Cardstock:
- Soft Suede Classic Ink – Bunny (Easter Friends), Daisy (Daisy Lane)
- Bumblebee Classic Ink – Baby Duck & Baby Chick (Easter Friends)
- Old Olive Classic Ink – Patches of Grass x 3 (Easter Friends)
- Magenta Madness Classic Ink – Daisy x 2 (Daisy Lane)
Blend the ink of all images with a Water Painter as shown. Use a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to color the eyes black.
Use Paper Snips to cut out all Easter Friends stamped images. Adhere as shown with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Crop the two daisies with the coordinating Medium Daisy Punch aoond snip the center of the Soft Suede Daisy with Paper Snips. Adhere together with a Mini Glue Dot.
Stamp the sentiment in Versamark Ink onto a piece of Soft Suede Cardstock. Cover with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Set with a Heat Tool.
Crop with a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Seasonal Labels Die.
Distress and crinkle as shown. Adhere to the card as shown with Dimensionals.
Embellish with Bumblebee 2020-2022 In Color Square Gems.
I love how the 2020-2022 In Color Square Gems coordinate with the 2020-2022 In Color 6×6 Designer Series Paper! I think this is the first time I used the Square Gems…at least that I can remember. If you like the look, snag them quick! They will retire on May 3, 2022!
Paper Snips just happen to be one of my FAVORITE tools! Fussy Cutting Therapy is definitely for me. I could sit and snip all day 🙂 I know, some of you think I am CRAZY! (and maybe I am….)
