Today I wanted to try out my new Stampin’ Blends so I sorted through my box of “to use items” from my 2017 Holiday Catalog order. I wanted to find something that was easy to color and blend since this was pretty much my first attempt at blending. The Smitten Mittens Bundle called to me as the mitten area was open and easy to color. I am happy with my choice as it allowed me to freely play and blend and the results are just what I was looking for! I cannot wait to step-it-up and attempt a more detailed image that requires more shading.
These Smitten Mittens were colored with the Light and Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends. Make sure to use Tuxedo Black Momento Ink when working with the Stampin’ Blends. They are Alcohol Based Markers and the Momento Ink is the correct ink to use to prevent smearing. (haha…don’t you love my scientific explanation?) . All the Images, outside of the Smitten Sentiment, were cropped with the Big Shot and Coordinating Dies that come with the Bundle. The Smitten Sentiment was fussy cut with the Paper Snips.
I wrapped the 7/8″ Black and White Striped Ribbon as a Belly Band around the Mini Pizza Box. A Foil Snowflake was flipped over and colored with the Stampin’ Blends. Note: Color lightly across the Foil Snowflake to prevent damage to your Blends tip. The Mini Mittens were stamped and glued together with the Black Solid Bakers Twine glued in the middle. I added Black Rhinestones to the Mitten Centers and the top of the Bakers Twine Bow. All Items were adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
These Smitten Mittens images were colored with the Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends. The steps to create these match those of the Bermuda Bay Mittens, just a new color. I just LOVE the vibrant and smooth look that the Blends give. They will be a new favorite of mine and I will be using them often.
