Creating Kindness Blog Hop; Because We Care

Welcome to the Creating Kindness Blog Hop! I was so honored to be asked to participate in this month’s hop as a guest designer! I hope I can inspire those who visit my blog!  The theme of this month’s hop is Because We Care : Cards to Charities.  Although my main share is not a card, it is a part of the backstory of my ‘charity’ of choice.

Creating Kindness Blog Hop - Guest Designer - Stesha Bloodhart #creatingkindnessbloghop #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

In the months of October through March, my schedule get’s extremely busy!  I work several hours a day volunteering my time to the River Falls Youth Hockey Association.  I have two sons; Preston, Age 8 (almost 9) and Parker, Age 5 (soon-to-be 6) who skate at the Mite Level.  Although some hours are required as part of your association dues, I put in over and above what is required.  I am the manager of the Mites, Levels 1-4, which consist of 100+ skaters.  It involves communication, participation fee collection, registrations, etc.  I create handmade handouts for the Learn To Skate participants. I am also part of the Tournament Committee; I collect baskets for event raffles, find vendors for events and make sure the hockey rink is decorated with style 🙂 (my featured creation).

River Falls Youth Hockey Association #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

This year I donated a collection of handmade cards, mini pizza boxes and gift bags (shown above) to be part of the first basket raffle. Can you believe I forgot to take a photo of my basket before I dropped it off?  Luckily a good friend of mine was the lucky winner and she was kind enough to take a photo and thank me.  Most of the cards shown above have been posted on my blog, so feel free to check out my gallery for up-close images.

This weekend is our home Mite Jamboree called the Holiday Extravaganza (hence the sign).  We have approximately 300 skaters (400 total) coming to our rink to participate in a weekend of fun!  We have Santa making an appearance, a craft table for the kids and lots of ice time.  I will spend my day Friday at the rink decorating with Christmas Decor and a few of my handmade pieces.

The Mini Pizza Boxes and the Trim Your Stockings Thinlits Dies were the perfect addition to my holiday themed rosettes.  I LOVE ROSETTES, can you tell?

Let's Play Hockey Holiday Extravaganza Christmas Banner for Creating Kindness Blog Hop Special Guest Designer Stesha Bloodhart #creatingkindnessbloghop #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

I love the Letters For You Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Coordinating Large Letters Framelits.  I have used it on so many of my creations, it is just perfect for a variety of cards, scrapbook pages, and decorations.

I created 3 different sized rosettes.  The largest rosette is two 12×12 pieces of cardstock, cut in half, scored at 1/2 inch intervals and joined together (4 pieces).  The 2nd largest rosette is a 12×12 piece of cardstock, cut to 3-inch x 12-inch, scored at 1/2 inch intervals and joined together (3 pieces). The smallest rosette is a 12×12 piece of cardstock cut to 2-inch x 12-inch, scored at 1/2 inch intervals and joined together (2 pieces). All items were adhered together with a glue gun.

Let's Play Hockey Holiday Extravaganza Christmas Banner for Creating Kindness Blog Hop Special Guest Designer Stesha Bloodhart #creatingkindnessbloghop #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

For the banner pieces, I cut cardstock to 2-inch x 4-inch then flagged the ends with my Banner Triple Punch. I saved the piece that was punched out and used it as the topper to my banner pieces. I added the Season of Glitz Mini Bows to the top of the banner as well.

Let's Play Hockey Holiday Extravaganza Christmas Banner for Creating Kindness Blog Hop Special Guest Designer Stesha Bloodhart #creatingkindnessbloghop #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

I used the snowflake die from Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Set.  I used the Stitched Shaped Oval Die to crop Vellum to place over the top of the snowflake, then added the cropped Letters for You to create “Holiday Extravaganza).  All items were adhered with Mini Glue Dots.

Thank you so much for hopping by my blog!  Be sure to move along to the next-in-line: The Talented Danielle Bennenk!

3-D Thursday: Cheery Chirps Sharing the Joy with Stampin’ Blends

Welcome to 3-D Thursday at Stampin’ Hoot!  I wasn’t planning on sharing a new creation, but I am having so much fun using the All-New Stampin’ Blends, Premium Alcohol Markers by Stampin’ Up!, that I just had to share it with you!  The Cheery Chirps Stamp Set is perfect for coloring.  Did you see my post from Monday?  I used the other images from the Cheery Chirps Stamp Set and colored them with the New Blends as well. You can see it here:

As you probably know, I LOVE to fussy cut with my handy little Paper Snips, so this project was definitely a fun one!  Not excited about fussy cutting like me?  No worries, you can easily use a Circle Punch or Circle Die and crop this birdie out quickly!

  • A Mini Pizza Box was colored with Old Olive Ink and a Sponge Brayer. Note: It takes a while to dry..speed it up with a Heat Tool if short on time.  Your fingers will thank you!
  • The bird from Cheery Chirps was stamped on Whisper White Thick Cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
  • I colored the image with the following Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers:  Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Pumpkin Pie, and Light and Dark Old Olive.  I snipped it out with my Paper Snips and adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The sentiment ‘Sharing the Joy’ is from the Ready for Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set.  It was stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink on Whisper White Cardstock.  It was snipped out with my well-loved Paper Snips and adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I wrapped Crushed Curry 3/8″ Mini Chevron Ribbon around the Mini Pizza Box and secured it with a bow.  I can easily be slipped off to open the box.
  • I cut a piece of Old Olive 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon to size, added Mini Glue Dots to the ends and adhered it to the center of the Crushed Curry Ribbon.
  • I added three Black Rhinestone Jewels as the final touch to the Mini Pizza Gift Box.

The darkest color of the birdie is Light Pumpkin Pie, it pairs so well with the Daffodil Delight!  I am finally getting the hang of using the Stampin’ Blends and obtaining wonderful depth and shading with blending.  They have now become a staple in my craft room!  Are you ready to add them to yours?  You can have them starting November 1st!  Get that order ready!

3-D Thursday: Half Full Stamp Set for a Christmas Wine Tag

Today’s 3-D Thursday Blog Feature brings you a Wine Gift Tag w/ Note created with the Half Full Stamp Set from the 2017 Holiday Catalog.  It was easy to create, helps you to step-up a gift of wine and shares your paper crafts creations!

I used the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies, my Big Shot and a piece of Merry Little Christmas DSP to create the bag.  I then cut a strip of the same DSP to 1 1/2 inch Wide x 4 Inches Long.  Then I punched a circle with my 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, scored a fold line at 3 inches and then glued the bottom inch to the inside of the Mini Treat Bag. There are so many cute thinlits that come with the Mini Treat Bags, you can see them all in the photo below.

I used the Largest Stitched Circle Framelit to crop out the Circle to use as a template to build me tag scene.  All Images are from the Half Full Stamp Set.  The Wine Glasses and Holly are stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Thick Whisper White Cardstock and colored with the all New Stampin’ Blends (available to order November 1st).  I used the Dark Cherry Cobbler for the Wine and Berries and Light and Dark Old Olive for the Holly Leaves.  I fussy cut all images with my Paper Snips and adhered them with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Here is a closer look to all the wonderful images and beautiful font sentiments that come in the Half Full Stamp Set, available in Clear or Wood-Mount.

I wanted a note for the inside of the Mini Gift Bag so I cut a piece of Cherry Cobber Cardstock to 3 1/2 in x 5 1/4 in. Then I added Whisper White ( 3 1/4 in x 5 in.) and Old Olive (3 in x 4 3/4 in) Cardstock layers.  I stamped the Tag and Wine Bottle with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Whisper White Thick Cardstock, fussy cut the images with my Paper Snips and colored them with my New Stampin’ Blends(available to order November 1st). I used Dark Cherry Cobbler and Light and Dark Old Olive, the same as the outside of the gift bag.

I finished off both the outside of the gift bag and inside card with Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon and Black Rhinestones Jewels.

3-D Thursday: Smitten Mittens Pizza Boxes

Today I wanted to try out my new Stampin’ Blends so I sorted through my box of  “to use items” from my 2017 Holiday Catalog order.  I wanted to find something that was easy to color and blend since this was pretty much my first attempt at blending. The Smitten Mittens Bundle called to me as the mitten area was open and easy to color. I am happy with my choice as it allowed me to freely play and blend and the results are just what I was looking for!  I cannot wait to step-it-up and attempt a more detailed image that requires more shading.

These Smitten Mittens were colored with the Light and Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends.  Make sure to use Tuxedo Black Momento Ink when working with the Stampin’ Blends.  They are Alcohol Based Markers and the Momento Ink is the correct ink to use to prevent smearing. (haha…don’t you love my scientific explanation?) . All the Images, outside of the Smitten Sentiment, were cropped with the Big Shot and Coordinating Dies that come with the Bundle. The Smitten Sentiment was fussy cut with the Paper Snips.

I wrapped the 7/8″ Black and White Striped Ribbon as a Belly Band around the Mini Pizza Box.  A Foil Snowflake was flipped over and colored with the Stampin’ Blends. Note: Color lightly across the Foil Snowflake to prevent damage to your Blends tip.  The Mini Mittens were stamped and glued together with the Black Solid Bakers Twine glued in the middle.  I added Black Rhinestones to the Mitten Centers and the top of the Bakers Twine Bow.  All Items were adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

These Smitten Mittens images were colored with the Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends.  The steps to create these match those of the Bermuda Bay Mittens, just a new color. I just LOVE the vibrant and smooth look that the Blends give. They will be a new favorite of mine and I will be using them often.

Welcome to the CCDT Blog Hop – Haunted Halloween

Creative Circle Design Team Logo and Blog Hop HeaderWelcome to the CCDT Blog Hop – Haunted Halloween

Hello Everyone!  I am honored to say that I have been asked to be part of the Creative Circle Blog Hop!  The hops are held on the first Thursday of each month. We are a group of International Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators led by Liz Holloway.  Liz provides inspiration and a different challenge theme every month.  I hope you enjoy the hop for October, which features projects with a Haunted Halloween theme.

3-D Thursday Blog Feature at Stampin' Hoot! Stesha Bloodhart #3dthursday #stampinhoot #steshabloodhart #stampinup #papercrafts #stamping #demonstrator

Since today is Thursday, I stuck with my 3-D Thursday Blog Theme and created a piece of Halloween Wall Art utilizing the Spooky Cat Bundle and coordinating Spooky Night Designer Series Paper.

I have had the blank wood sign for a few years (no kidding). I bought it prior to being a SU Demonstrator, back when Archiver’s still had Brick and Mortar store.  So unfortunately, I cannot tell you where to find one. If you want to make one, the dimensions are 10 inches tall x 17 inches wide.  I am so happy I finally took the time to use decorate it and I am very happy with the results.  I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do!

The first thing I did was stamp the Happy Halloween using the Letters For You Photopolymer Stamp Set with Basic Black Archival Ink and Shimmery White Cardstock. I quickly cropped them with the Big Shot and Coordinating Large Letters Framelits Dies.  Once the letters were cropped, I took Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink and an Aqua Painter and added color to match the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper. I laid them out onto the board to determine how much space was left to add accents and images.

In the Upper Left Corner I added the Moon & Tree Image that I cropped out (fussy cut with the Paper Snips) of the piece of Spooky Night Designer Series Paper.  I stamped the Owl from the Spooky Cat Photopolymer Stamp Set with Basic Black Archival Ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock.  I colored the beak and talons with my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker. I also fussy cut him with the Paper Snips and added him behind the branch (I cut the branch out from the moon and pieced it back together so I could sit the owl behind it).  The owl was adhered with Fast Fuse Adhesive.

I created 9 Rosettes from the Spooky Night DSP.  Rosettes are very simple to create.  I wanted them different sizes, which you can obtain by cutting your DSP to different widths.  The smallest rosette is a 1 inch x 12 inch strip of DSP.  The medium rosette is 1.5 inch x 12 inch strip of DSP and the largest is a 1.75 in x 12 inch strip of DSP. Then you grab your Simply Scored and Stylus and score every two marks (1/4 inch).  Fold on the scored lines, alternating direction at each fold.  Add Fast Fuse Adhesive to one end, form into the rosette shape and adhere the ends together.  To keep the rosette shape, I add several strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive to the back side and a Stampin’ Dimensional to the front center.

Quick Tip:   I tried to use a 2 inch x 12 inch strip as my largest rosette, but this made it too large to be able to make it round.  The largest width you can go when using 12 inches in length is 1.75 inches.

Spooky Cat Bundle Paired with Spooky Night Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up! for the Creative Circle October 2017 Blog Hop - Haunted Halloween. Details at Stampin' Hoot! Stesha Bloodhart #stampinup #spookycat #spookynightdsp #stampinhoot #steshabloodhart #halloweendecor #papercrafts #halloween

The pumpkin patch was created by snipping the pumpkins with my paper snips from the piece of Spooky Night DSP.  The cats were all cropped out with the insanely popular Cat Punch that is part of the Spooky Cat Bundle. The sweet tip about the cat punch: The Spooky Night DSP has cats that fit the punch perfectly.  The Orange and Black cats on the Right Side were both cropped from the DSP with the Cat Punch.

The smaller Witch Hats were also snipped from the Spooky Night DSP with my Paper Snips.  The larger Witch Hat, Rat and Beakers of Potion are all from the Spooky Cat Stamp Set and were stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink on Shimmery White Cardstock. The Beakers of Potion are a two-step process, allowing you to add your desired potion colors. I wanted to stick with the same colors as the DSP so the middle beaker is Tangerine Tango and the other two are Pumpkin Pie.

We hand out pencils to our Trick-or-Treaters, so I snagged one that coordinated well and wrapped a strip of randomly snipped DSP around the bottom to represent a witches broom. I finished it off by adding some Vintage Crochet Trim to cover the paper edge.

I was just about finished with my Halloween Sign, but decided it was missing something.  So I glanced through my stamp sets and found a bat and crow from Graveyard Gate. I stamped them in Basic Black Archival Ink on Shimmery White Cardstock and snipped them out with my Paper Snips.  I decided all stamped images needed the white edges toned down, so I used my Aqua Painter to add small amounts of Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink to the edges.

The Rosettes were adhered with the Tear & Tape Adhesive used to hold them together and the remaining items were adhered with Glue Dots or Stampin’ Dimensionals (both regular and mini).

I hope you have enjoyed my Halloween Sign.  If you have any questions, please do not be afraid to leave a comment or send me an email.  I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have!  I had so much fun with this paper craft project and I am sure you would too!

Please make sure to hop along and check out all the wonderful inspiration from the other Creative Circle Team Members!

Have a Happy & Haunted Halloween!

3-D Thursday: Seasonal Chums Tubes of Fun!

3-D Thursday Blog Feature at Stampin' Hoot! Stesha Bloodhart #3dthursday #stampinhoot #steshabloodhart #stampinup #papercrafts #stamping #demonstrator

Welcome to 3-D Thursday: Seasonal Chums for Tubes of Fun!

Seasonal Chums Bundle by Stampin' Up! Makes the Perfect Tags for the Treat Tubes from the 2017 Holiday Catalog! See details at stampinhoot.com, Stesha Bloodhart #stampinup #seasonalchums #treattubes #3dthursday #papercrafts #handmade

It’s 3-D Thursday and time for some Fun!  The Seasonal Chums Bundle by Stampin’ Up! pairs perfectly with the Treat Tubes, which are filled with M&M’s.  I was hoping to find the Halloween M&M’s to put into my Treat Tubes, but unfortunately the ones that I purchased (Pecan Pie and Candy Corn) did not fit.  They were a tad too big and got stuck in the middle of the tube.  The Original Milk Chocolate M&M’s are the way to go!  Being I have found the size that works, I anticipate that Skittles and Reese’s Pieces will fit in the Treat Tubes as well!

The Treat Tubes would make a perfect Halloween Handout to Trick-or-Treaters you may have coming to your door!  We don’t get all too many cute little kids in costumes, so I always make my handouts with a little flair.  The kiddos seem to get excited when it’s not just another piece of candy.

For the Jack-o-lantern, I stamped the image with Basic Black Archival Ink on Shimmery White Cardstock.  I quickly cropped it out with the Big Shot and Coordinating Framelits Die from the Seasonal Tags Framelits Dies included in the Seasonal Chums Bundle.  I colored the image with an Aqua Painter and the following Classic Inks:  Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green and Crushed Curry.

Tip:  Be sure to crop your image prior to coloring to ensure you get a good cut.  Nothing worse than taking the time to color the image to perfection only to zip it through the Big Shot and get a crappy cut, resulting in starting over :).

This little reindeer is probably my favorite image from the Seasonal Chums Bundle.  It is so cute and fun to color…and of course, you have to make the nose red to represent Rudolph.  I love how the image is the front and back and it gets folded to create a tag!

For Rudolph the Reindeer, I stamped the image with Basic Black Archival Ink on Shimmery White Cardstock.  I quickly cropped it out with the Big Shot and Coordinating Framelits Die from the Seasonal Tags Framelits Dies included in the Seasonal Chums Bundle.  I colored the image with an Aqua Painter and the following Classic Inks:  Real Red, Smoky Slate and Soft Suede.

Then you have this smiling snowman that makes you smile in return.  Snowman will always remind me of my Mother-In-Law, who collected them!  She had hundreds from family and friends who showered her with gifts of the smiling friend.
