TGIF! It’s time for a product spotlight – Soft Pastels.
This card was quite a struggle. I really liked the look of the Soft Pastels on the black, but I had a heck of a time trying to figure out how to showcase the flowers. I had a card created last Thursday and I couldn’t get myself to post it. I made a few updates…and although it is still not a favorite of mine, I am happy to share it with everyone.
Have you given the Soft Pastels a try? How did they work for you?
Begin with a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock. Score and fold at 5 1/2.
Distress the edges of a 4 x 5 1/2 piece of Poppy Parade Cardstock with a Bone Folder or Paper Snips edge. Adhere to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Zip a 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 piece of Basic Black Cardstock through a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine tucked inside the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Crop a piece of Basic White Cardstock with a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the 2 5/8 x 4 Stitched Rectangle Die.
Stamp the holly leaf in Versamark Ink onto the top left corner as shown. Cover with Black Basics Embossing Powder. Set with a Heat Tool. Triple wrap with Black Baker’s Twine Essentials, securing with a bow. Adhere to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp the floral image in Versamark Ink onto a piece of Basic Black Cardstock. Cover with Black Basics Embossing Powder. Set with a Heat Tool. Crop with the coordinating Christmas Cheer dies. Color with the Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green Soft Pastels, rubbing away the excess with a paper towel. Adhere to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp the sentiment in Versamark Ink onto a 1/4 x 2 piece of Poppy Parade Cardstock. Cover with Black Basics Embossing Powder. Set with a Heat Tool. Adhere with snipped-to-size Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Add a small bow of Black Baker’s Twine Essentials to the top left of the card as shown with a Mini Glue Dot.
