Welcome to my Blog! This will be the first post of m any and I am so excited that you decided to stop by and check out Stampin’ Hoot! A place to “have a hoot of a stampin’ good time!” I am here to share with you my passion for paper crafting. Please bare with me as I am building my site. I will be adding pages, loading my gallery and updating content in the coming days.
Although I am new to blogging, I am not a newbie to the paper crafting scene. Stampin’ Up!® products are what I use and what I will be sharing with you! They are my favorite…high quality, top of the line, coordinating and on-trend. Everything you need to make mouth-dropping, eye-opening creations.
Lets get to it! Here is the first of many paper crafting creations I will be sharing with you. It is a card and cafe gift bag set made from the Cupcakes & Carousels Suite from the 2017 Occasions Catalog. I love the look and feel of this suite. The color combinations are superb (and consistent with my logo). The additions from the Cupcakes & Carousel’s Embellishments are the perfect accent to finish off the project with flair.
The petite cafe gift bags are fabulous and so easy to decorate. They are also food safe (for all you bakers out there). Pair them together with a card and you have a lovely coordinating birthday gift set.
The Carousel Birthday Stamp Set along with the Cupcakes and Carousel DSP and Embellishment Kit make this card perfect to give a little girl or anyone for that matter.
The card details are as follows:
- The base of the card is 5.5 x 5.5 in Very Vanilla Cardstock. An additional layer of Very Vanilla was cut to 5 x 5 and adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Prior to adhering the layer to the base I stamped the image of the Ferris Wheel in Early Espresso Classic Ink. I stamped it again in Early Espresso, Calypso Coral and Flirty Flamingo on Very Vanilla. I zipped it through the Big Shot with the coordinating cupcake framelit from the Up & Away Thinlits Dies and adhered the tops to the Ferris Wheel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The ribbon, bakers twine, bow and tassel are all from the Cupcakes and Carousels Embellishment kit. I also added Gold Metallic Enamel Shapes and a piece of Gold Sequin Trim to the card.
- The rosette behind the carousel horse was created from 2 strips of Cupcakes and Carousel DSP cut at 1.5 x 6. I used the Simply Scored tool to score at every 2nd groove. I alternated the fold and then adhered the two pieces together to create the rosette. The carousel horse was stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla then snipped out with the Paper Snips. I then adhered both the rosette and horse with dimensionals to the card base.
- Another strip of Cupcakes and Carousel DSP was cut at 2 1/4 inch x 6 and the flagged ends were created using the Triple Banner Punch. I did the same to a piece of Very Vanilla cut at 2 inches x 5.75. I scored and alternated the folds to make the sentiment pop up off the card. The sentiment (also from the Carousel Birthday Set) was colored with Early Espresso and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Markers then with a quick huff of air, stamped on the Very Vanilla flag.
The Petite Cafe Gift Bag was decorated with items from the Cupcakes and Carousels Embellishment Kit. I also used a Lace Doily, a strip of Gold Sequin Trim and a Gold Metallic Enamel Circle on the bow.
Here is a close-up of the decor on the gift bag to help show how it was put together. The sentiment is from the Balloon Adventures Stamp Set (also from the 2017 Occasions Catalog) and it was stamped using the In-Color Flirty Flamingo Classic Ink.
