Pick a “B” Pals Blog Hop : Meet Lined Alphabet

Welcome to the Pals June 2018 Blog Hop. This month we’re going to Pick a “B”. Projects for Babies, Birthdays or Brides, that is. Be on the lookout for creations using new products from the Stampin’ Up! 2018-2019 Annual Catalog!

You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Happy Birthday Card using the Lined Alphabet Bundle by Stampin' Up! From the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. Handmade card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot
Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Soft Seam Foam Cardstock to 6 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.  Score and fold at 4 1/4″.
  2. Using the Big Shot, Magnetic Platform & Layering Alphabet Edgelits Dies, crop “birthday” using a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock cut down the middle at 4 1/4″.
  3. Click to watch this video, from Stampin’ Up!, for tips on using the Layering Alphabet Edgelit Dies.
  4. Using an Aqua Painter, color the Shimmery White Cardstock with the following Classic Inks:  Top – Flirty Flamingo, Middle – Soft Sea Foam, Bottom – Coastal Cabana.
  5. Using a Clear Block C and the Lined Alphabet Photopolymer Stamps, stamp the letters as shown using StazOn Ink.
  6. Note: If you want perfect placement, I highly recommend using a Stamparatus – Stamp Positioning Tool.  I like the sketched look I obtained by double stamping the letters and not going for perfection.
  7. Adhere the pieces together as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then cut down to 2 3/4″ wide.  This makes the border one inch above and one inch below the letters.
  8. Cut an additional piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to 2 1/2″ x 2 3/4″.  Color with Aqua Painters to match the letters and adhere to the “Y” panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  9. Adhere to a piece of Basic Black Cardstock cut to 2 7/8″ x 6 1/8″ with Snail Adhesive.  Then adhere to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  10. Stamp the balloon bouquet (Hand Delivered Hostess Only Stamp Set) in StazOn Ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock.  Color as shown with an Aqua Painter (same colors as letters).  Crop with a Paper Snips and adhere as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  11. Using a Big Shot and Basic Black Cardstock, crop the Happy Birthday using the Happy Birthday Thinlit Die.  Snip apart with a Paper Snips and adhere the “Happy” with snipped to size Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  12. Add 3 Share What You Love Artisan Pearls for a final touch!
Happy Birthday Card using the Lined Alphabet Bundle by Stampin' Up! From the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. Handmade card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot
This is my first time playing with the all-new Lined Alphabet Bundle.  At first, I was reluctant about purchasing the Layering Alphabet Edgelit Dies, but now that I have them in hand and have used them, I can’t believe I ever second-guessed this purchase!  They are so very it!  I will be using these on upcoming scrapbook pages!  Stay tuned!
Happy Birthday Card using the Lined Alphabet Bundle by Stampin' Up! From the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. Handmade card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot
There are several different ways you can use this bundle and I highly recommend watching the video that Stampin’ Up! has released to help you understand the variety this bundle offers.  The font is fun and easy to mix and match. I love how well it works with the Happy Birthday Thinlits Die I used on this card.
The Share What You Love Artisan Pearls add the perfect touch to any project!  The array of color options makes it versatile and a great addition to your embellishment stash!

The monotone green card is very pleasing to the eye.  I used the returning Mint Macaron (happy dance) and the fabulous Tranquil Tide!  I think they pair perfectly!

Giving your focal points an extra pop by adding Dimensionals is always a must on my creations.  If you are not a fan of fussy cutting, you can sure stamp the image right on the Watercolor Paper and it will still look fabulous!

Varied Vases Bundle : Pals Blog Hop – May 2018

Welcome to our Pals Blog Hop, May 2018. This month we’ll be “Stepping Up with Textures or Techniques.” What’s that? Projects that are “stepped up” by using textures, such as embossing folders, or fun techniques. Who knows, maybe both! Join us in the fun while we inspire you to step-up your creations.

Varied Vases Bundle and the Masking Technique!

You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Varied Vases Bundle by Stampin' Up! for Mary Fish Million Dollar Stamp Set. Card created by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! for the May 2018 Pals Blog Hop #stampinhoot #steshabloodhart

Today’s card is showing off several new products:  The New 2018-2020 In-Color Stampin’ Pads & Cardstock (available now!) and also the FABULOUS Varied Vases Bundle (available June 1st) that was inspired by Mary Fish, Million Dollar Sales Achiever, my friend, and upline!  I cannot wait to play with this bundle more!  There are 34 amazing images and sentiments to use for so many different occasions!

Varied Vases Bundle by Stampin' Up! for Mary Fish Million Dollar Stamp Set. Card created by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! for the May 2018 Pals Blog Hop #stampinhoot #steshabloodhart

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Blueberry Bushel Cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.  Score and fold at 4 1/4″.
  2. Cut a piece of Watercolor Paper to 4″ x 5 1/4″.
  3. Use a Stamparatus to stamp the three vases outline in Black StazOn Ink onto the Watercolor Paper. Stamp again onto the top of a post-it note and snip them out using a Paper Snips.
  4. Place the post-it note images over the top of the previously stamped images to mask them.  Place and stamp the vases as shown (using the Stamparatus and Black StazOn).
  5. Stamp the Birthday Wishes Sentiment in the upper left corner using Black StazOn Ink. Tip: When stamping on Watercolor Paper, sometimes you need to stamp the image twice to get full coverage.  The Stamparatus is perfect for placing the image and stamping exactly where needed to make your image coverage perfect.
  6. Stamp a second set of the 3rd and 5th (from the left) vases & flowers in Staz-On Ink onto Watercolor Paper.  Snip them out (closely) with a Paper Snips.
  7. Color all images with an Aqua Painter and the All-New 2018-2020 In-Colors:  Blueberry Bushel, Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, & Pineapple Punch.
  8. Add a bit of shading below the vases with an Aqua Painter and Smoky Slate Ink.
  9. Adhere the 2nd set of images over the top of the original image with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Just a few short weeks before the Stamparatus will be available to order!  It will launch with the New 2018-2019 Annual Catalog! I am starting to use it a lot more than when I first got it and am loving the benefits it brings to stamping! Get it on your wish list!

This was my first go-round with the New In-Colors and I have to say, I have fallen for them!  Their bright and cherry tones bring a smile to my face when I see them combined on a card.  I have yet to use the green shade: Call Me Clover, but I am certain it will be used on a soon-to-be papercraft creation!  Stay tuned!

My tip for watercolor:  I wanted my vases to have a shading effect, so I started with a very light application of Blueberry Bushel that covered the entire vase.  I slowly added more color to the left-hand side of all vases, lightly dragging the color to the right.  The result is a beautiful ombre look! Blue is my favorite color so Blueberry Bushel is now at the top of my list.
