The beautiful Birthday Blooms Stamp Set (available in Clear or Wood Mount) is also retiring, sniff, sniff…  I love coloring this stamp set and am sad to see it go, but I promise you, the oodles of items available in its place will not disappoint!

This was an extremely simple card to create.  I didn’t fussy cut anything (can you believe it?) It’s a quick stamp, sprinkle, heat and color and you are done! I love the look of white embossed images on Crumb Cake Cardstock, what do you think?

Those lovely Glitter and Clear Epoxy Shapes are also soon to be gone!  (another sniff, sniff…) I have enjoyed using those as a final touch to several of my creations.  They are subtle and give just the right step-up to a paper craft project.

  2. Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. Stamp 4 rows of ‘celebrate’ in Peekaboo Peach Ink starting about 1 1/2″ from the top. Alternate the starting point of the stamped image so that each row is slightly offset from one another.

  7. Fussy cut all flower images with a Paper Snips. Adhere as shown with Snail Adhesive and Stampin’ Dimensionals (bottom left flower).

Using a Big Shot (or similar) Die Cutting Machine, crop a Basic Black Cardstock and Shimmery White Cardstock Happy Birthday using the Happy Birthday Thinlit Die included in the bundle.  Tip: Use a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet along with the Shimmery White Cardstock to make adhering the two pieces of cardstock to each other easy peasy.
  9. With an Aqua Painter, create they ombre effect by adding Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, and Sweet Sugarplum Ink.
  10. Snip a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals into thirds, then adhere to the back side of the Basic Black Die Cut and then to the card as shown.

#tgifc152 Technique Time: Marker to Stamp

Definitely Dahlia Background Stamp by Stampin' Up! for #tgifc152 Technique Time - Marker Direct to Stamp Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Happy Friday! TGIFC152

It’s Friday and time for a Technique!  This month’s technique is the Marker Direct to Stamp Technique. I do believe that this is the very first technique I learned when I was introduced to the world of stamping and paper crafting. This is such an easy technique but it can definitely add a wow factor to your projects.

Definitely Dahlia Background Stamp by Stampin' Up! for #tgifc152 Technique Time - Marker Direct to Stamp Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Card Details:

  1. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Basic Black Cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 11″.  Score and fold at 5 1/2″
  2. Cut a piece of Bermuda Bay Cardstock to 5 3/8 x 5 3/8″.  Adhere with Snail Adhesive.
  3. Cut a piece of Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock to 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″.  Adhere with Snail Adhesive.
  4. Cut a piece of Basic Black Cardstock to 4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″.
  5. Cut 6″ of each: Bermuda Bay Stitched Satin Ribbon & Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon.  Adhere as shown with Snail Adhesive.
  6. Add color to the Definitely Dahlia Stamp with a Stampin’ Write Markers, using the brush end.  I colored the inner part of the flower with Lemon Lime Twist and the outer part with Bermuda Bay.
  7. Huff on the stamp several times to moisten the ink, then stamp on Shimmery White Cardstock.
  8. Crop the Happy Birthday Image 3 times (Shimmery White, Basic Black, and Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock) by running through the Big Shot, while inside a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet.
  9. Add Lemon Lime Twist and Bermuda Bay Ink as shown with an Aqua Painter to the Shimmery White Die Cut.
  10. Adhere the 3 die cuts together, slightly offset, in the following order (bottom up):  Black, Lemon Lime Twist & Shimmery White. Adhere to the Dahlia Image.
  11. Run the smaller die from the Bold Butterfly Framelits through the Big Shot with a piece of Basic Black Cardstock.  Adhere with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
  12. Add Clear Epoxy Shapes for a final touch.

Definitely Dahlia Background Stamp by Stampin' Up! for #tgifc152 Technique Time - Marker Direct to Stamp Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

As I was skimming my shelves loaded with stamps, I was trying to locate a solid image that I haven’t used much!  I found the PERFECT stamp that I had yet to ink-up!  The Definitely Dahlia Background stamp has been one of my neglected stamps…purchased, put on the shelf, and unused.  Well, it finally got its turn to shine! Bermuda Bay and Lemon Lime Twist welcomed it to my craft table and I have to say that I love the results, do you?

Definitely Dahlia Background Stamp by Stampin' Up! for #tgifc152 Technique Time - Marker Direct to Stamp Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

The Happy Birthday Thinlit Die was the perfect sentiment to coordinate with the large flower.  I cropped it 3 times with my Big Shot, each with the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to easily adhere them together to create multi-colored layers.    This really makes the sentiment pop off the card.

Happy Friday! tgifc150

It’s FRIDAY, YAY!!! Time for Sketch Challenge tgifc150.  My favorite challenges are color and sketches.  It makes it so easy to quickly create a card when you have a place to start.  You may notice that this cards sketch is very similar to the one I posted on Monday for the GDP.  That is ok though, as I love the landscape style card with the focal point on the left. How about you?

I just love to emboss my images.  It makes adding color to fine lines an easy task as you have a border to hold you in place.  I am all about adding dimension to up the WOW factor.  If you don’t have Versamark, Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool, I highly recommend adding them to your Craft Collection!

The Sweet Soirée Specialty Designer Series Paper is GORGEOUS.  It has lots of Silver Shimmer that makes it eye-catchingly beautiful! (I know that isn’t a word, but I like it to use it). There are so many unique options in the package and the color palette is yummy and perfect for birthdays and weddings.

Perennial Birthday Card – Case the Designer GDP128

Are you ready to CASE one of my FAVORITE Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators?

GDP128: CASE the Designer, Steffi Helmschrott is an extremely talented demonstrator from Germany!  I absolutely LOVE her style and stalk her Instagram account for inspiration.  I was excited to see that I would get the chance to create a card CASEing her wonderful work.  This card is simple, yet elegant and well put together.  I love portrait style cards as I think they stand out against the popular A2 sized cards.

I received the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set as part of my Display Board Stamper Kit.  I was selected to create items to display at OnStage (a large gathering of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators) in November.  I hadn’t used the stamp set since I created my display board items, so I thought it was time to dust it off and put it to use again.  It was the perfect set to CASE Steffi’s creation.

I also had to (literally) dust off my Watercolor Pencils.  It has been months since I used them and they are such a fabulous tool for easily adding color to images.  Mix it with a Blender Pen to get a smooth look and voila, you have a quickly colored card that is easy to duplicate. And at a cost of $16 for 13 pencils, it’s a steal!

High-quality, smooth color pencils. Perfect for watercoloring stamped images. Use with Aqua Painters, Blender Pens, or alone.

* 13 pencils in Stampin’ Up! colors: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
* Acid free
* Lignin free
