Welcome to Day FIVE of Seven Days of the OnStage November 2017 Display Stamper Blog Hop!
Mermaids!
A little about this blog hop: 20 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators have collaborated and are bringing you seven days of sneak peeks into creations used with products from the upcoming 2018 Occasion and Sale-a-Bration Catalogs that go live on January 3rd, 2018.
Today I am bringing you the cute little Mermaids from the Myths & Magic Suite of Products. The first card shows Mermaids snipped from the wonderful Myth & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper. This pack of DSP is superb. One side is Iridescent glittered designs and the other is colorful all-occasions imagery. So many of the images are perfect for your fussy cutting therapy!
The Glimmer Paper is gorgeous and was perfect for my ‘sea floor’. I used the new and fabulous Picture Perfect Paper Ribbon as the top of the ‘sea floor’ and then colored my Whisper White Cardstock with my Light and Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends to give the feel of the Mermaids swimming in the ocean. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black Archival Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock, then snipped it apart for perfect card placement. That cute little seahorse was stamped in Tuxedo Black Momento Ink onto Whisper White Thick Cardstock, then colored with the Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends. Of course, I fussy cut him with my Paper Snips.
The next set of Mermaids were created with the stamp from the Magical Day Stamp Set. They were stamped with Tuxedo Black Momento Ink onto Whisper White Thick Cardstock, then colored with several varieties of Stampin Blends. The seascape in the background was also created with Stampin’ Blends…..can you tell I am crazy about them! 🙂
Each Mermaid was fussy cut as I did not have the Magical Mates Framelits Dies, but as soon as I can order from the 2018 Occasions Catalog, I will be adding them to my trusty stash of coordinating Thinlits and Framelits Dies. The “Here’s to Celebrating You” sentiment is from the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set that I have shared with you on previous Blog Hop Posts.
I hope you enjoyed my magical mermaid creations for today’s hop. Now hop along to the talented Carolynn Sander @ Care Bear Stamps.

I absolutely love all your cards with this stamp set. I received it for christmas and you are providing me with a huge amount of inspiration – thanks! I love the ‘ocean’ background you created with the blends, did you do this by just blending blocks of colour? It looks amazing (I am still learning how to use my blends). Thank you for sharing 🙂
Thank you so much, I am so happy that I inspired you! That is my goal!
I created the background by using Light and Dark Bermuda Bay. I first applied the Light Bermuda Bay across the entire card. Then I did the same with Dark, both layers were applied in a circular motion. My card for January 1st is using the same technique! 🙂 Hope that helps! Happy New Year!
Amazing designs! I just adore what you have done with this sweet mermaids. I hope you do not mind if I share it on my What Inspires Me Wednesday post on my blog, Of course I will link to your original post! I am sorry I did not make the On Stage event–looks like I missed a lot. You certainly deserve a spot on the team of designers.
I would be honored if you share them! That is the reason why I share them, in hopes that I inspire others to create and love what they create!
