card tutorial: how to make this whimsy birthday card
- Begin with a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of Early Espresso Autumn to Remember Two-Tone Cardstock. Score and fold at 5 1/2 (portrait style card).
- Use a Paper Trimmer to cut the following:
- Cajun Craze Autumn to Remember Two-Tone Cardstock: 4 x 5 1/4
- Petal Pink Autumn to Remember Two-Tone Cardstock: 3 1/2 x 4 3/4
- Sweet Days of Autumn Designer Series Paper
- Plaid Design – 4 x 1 1/2, 4 x 5 1/4 (for inside)
- Tree Design – 3 x 4 1/4
- Animal Design – 3 x 4
- Distress the edges of the Cajun Craze Two-Tone Cardstock with a Distressing Tool.
- Fold in the corners as show and secure/decorate with mini staples.
- Adhere to the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Distress the edges of the 4 1/2 x 1 1/2 Plaid Designer Series Paper with a Distressing Tool.
- Use Paper Snips to make small slits in the sides. Slip the Cajun Craze Linen Thread into the slits, then double wrap. Leave the thread ends loose (you’ll add the bow later).
- Adhere to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Fold the corners of the other two pieces of DSP, then adhere together and to the card as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Stamp the “hey.” (Saying Hey Stamp Set) in Early Espresso Classic Ink onto a piece of Basic White Cardstock.
- Crop with a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (standard or mini) and the oval Greetings of the Season tag die.
- Thread the twine through the hole of the tag, securing with a bow.
- Adhere the left side of the tag to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals to keep it in place.
- Embellish with white Adhesive-Backed Swirl Dots.
- Adhere the two pieces remaining to the inside of the card as shown with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Stamp the “happy birthday” sentiment in Early Espresso Classic Ink onto the bottom right corner of the Petal Pink Two-Tone Cardstock layer.
