Carols of Christmas Jar and Candle Decor
Welcome to this week’s 3-D Thursday Blog Feature! Today’s post is all about Christmas Decor using items from the Merry Little Christmas Product Suite in the Stampin’ Up! 2017 Holiday Catalog. Stampin’ Up! does a wonderful job supplying their Independent Demonstrators with tools they can use to help in building their business to be a success. One of those tools is a quarterly magazine called Stampin’ Success. In the most recent issue they had the cutest little table top Christmas display that I just had to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit).
I have a collection of jars that hold a special place in my heart. After my Dad passed away in 2015, we had to go through everything to determine what we wanted to keep and what we wanted to sell (a task that is not easy). Not only did we have my Dad’s items to sort through, we also had my Grandpa and Grandma’s items as well. I am very close to my Grandma Gloria, whom we are still so very blessed to have on this earth with us. They had lived with my Dad for 25+ years. Her and Grandpa collected a lot of stuff and it was hard for her to see it go. She had to move to a much smaller apartment and knew she couldn’t take everything with her. I didn’t have a lot of room either, but I just had to have her collection of antique jars she displayed on top of the kitchen cupboards. So when I saw the jar decor in the Stampin’ Success publication, I knew exactly where I would find the perfect jar for my craft project.
In the 2017 Holiday Catalog, Stampin’ Up! Introduced a new MEGA Suite of Product. It contains two Product Bundles, two packs of coordinating Designer Series Paper and several wonderful embellishments that all work beautifully together. I will have several more samples with this suite of product to come in future posts! I highly recommend adding these items to your craft collection! The Deck the Halls Sentiment is from the Carols of Christmas Stamp Set. It was stamped on the jar with Basic Black Archival Ink and set with a heat tool. I also recommend sealing the image with poly spray or similar. The little silver Mini Ornaments add the perfect touch to the jar. The Striped Ribbon is wired and very easy to manipulate into place. The Jute Twine adds the perfect touch of rustic to match the feel of the antique jar. The Green Sprigs add the Christmas feel and are the perfect size for tabletop decor. Keep the Simply Scored plate close by to quickly create rosettes for added flair.
Tips for Stamping On the Jar: Use Basic Black Archival Ink. My jar is more square than round so it was a bit easier to get the image to stamp crisp and clean. I did have to “rock” the image a bit when I stamped it, I started on the left side. With a firm and steady hold, I maneuvered the stamp by rotating it onto the glass until I had the right edge touching. I am not gonna lie, it wasn’t an easy task. It took multiple attempts for me to get the perfect image. After setting the ink with the Heat Tool, I recommend letting it sit over night to ensure the ink has set well. I decorated mine shortly after stamping the image and some of it wiped off. The next day I tested the ink to see if it had set and it had. Nothing wiped off even when rubbed.

Beautiful. Love your projects
Thank you Cheryl!
Stesha, I love that jar! I know that one is an antique. I wondered how to stamp on a clear jar as they are cylindrical. I am a demonstrator also. Someone else may ask you the same thing! Beautiful work!
Hi Connie,
I sent you an email and will also follow-up on my blog post as stated. 🙂
