Welcome to the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop September 2017
This month our theme is Halloween! You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Stesha Bloodhart @ Stampin’ Hoot! or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full line-up below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the wonderful paper craft projects and inspiration!
Today I am bringing you two cards created with the Spooky Cat Bundle from the Stampin’ Up! 2017 Holiday Catalog. I wanted to feature two different backgrounds that I have been using a lot in my current creations! Like what you see?
Click for a PDF tutorial on how to create each of the backgrounds featured in this post!
The card above features a watercolor wash background created with Watercolor Paper paired with an Aqua Painter. All the images used on this card are from the Spooky Cat Bundle. It is one of my favorite Halloween sets that Stampin’ Up! has released. So many great images to make your Halloween creations.

The owl was stamped on Shimmery White Cardstock with Basic Black Archival Ink. His beak and feet were colored in with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker. He was adhered to the Watercolor Paper with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The Branch was quickly cropped on Basic Black Cardstock using the Big Shot and Die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. I snipped down some Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to hide behind the Branch and to help it pop up off the page.
The sentiment ‘A Wicked Yummy Treat for You’ was also stamped on Shimmery White Cardstock with Basic Black Archival Ink. I quickly cropped it out with the Coordinating Everyday Label Punch. I stamped the “washi tape” both on the Label Image and on Shimmery White with Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink. I snipped out the second image with a Paper Snips and adhered to the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Happy Halloween Sentiment was also stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink on Shimmery White and snipped out with a Paper Snips and adhered with cut in half Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added a smidge of Fast Fuse directly to the Watercolor Paper so that I could add the Black Metallic Thread to the area I wanted it. You can then easily manipulate the thread to where you want it to lie. I wrap it around three fingers until I have the amount I want, pull it off and push it down on the adhesive.
The Cat of Many Words was also inked up with Basic Black Archival Ink and stamped onto Shimmery White Cardstock. It was quickly cropped with the Coordinating Cat Punch. It’s popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Witches Hat and Mouse were again inked up with Basic Black Archival Ink and stamped onto Shimmery White Cardstock. They were both fussy cut with Paper Snips and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. You can easily add the color of your choice to the buckle by using the coordinating stamp included in the Spooky Cat Stamp Set. I used Cajun Craze to match my background.
The final touch was added by strategically placing Black Rhinestone Jewels to a few spots on the card.
The card above features an easy technique (thanks to Steffi Helmschrott) using Shimmery White Cardstock, Acetate and a Stampin’ Spritzer filled with water.
