Welcome to a CASE The Designer Challenge with Global Design Project! I know that my card for this weeks challenge looks very similar to the previous week’s, but I loved the rustic feel of last week’s card so much, I had to continue with my theme. #GDP116.
This week we are casing the card shown above, created by the talented Janneke De Jong. Her card was beautiful and simplistic. The tree makes a statement and the colors portray a soft winter feel. I started my card with just the tree, but then started adding more elements and straying further away from her design. BUT, CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) means to make it your own, and I did just that!
I used the Brushstrokes Background stamp to create my own Buffalo Plaid Paper. I stamped Basic Black onto Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, stamping it both horizontal and diagonal to get the plaid effect.
I stamped the images with Tuxedo Black Momento Ink onto Crumb Cake Cardstock, then colored it in with Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. The sentiments were fussy cut with my Paper Snips (My Free Hoot Loot for December). I adhered all images to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Linen Thread adds the perfect ‘rustic’ touch to any creation! I use LOTS of Linen Thread! 🙂
