Country Home Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Handmade Thankful Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! for GDP161 Color Challenge #gdp161 #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Happy Monday Everyone!

The Global Design Project has a beautiful fall color challenge for you this week!  I jumped on the chance to use my Country Home Stamp Set again…one of my FAVORITES. I went with a non-traditional color for my milk can, but I love the finished product. How about you?

Country Home Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! Handmade Thankful Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! for GDP161 Color Challenge #gdp161 #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″.  Score and fold at 5 1/2″.
  2. Cut a piece of Old Olive Cardstock to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. Adhere to the card base with Snail Adhesive.
  3. Cut a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to 4″ x 5 1/2″. Using the Smooching Technique (tutorial here), create the background using Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Crushed Curry Classic Inks.
  4. Zip the cardstock through the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine tucked inside the Tin Tile Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder. Adhere to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  5. Stamp the milk can and flowers (Country Home Stamp Set) in Jet Black StazOn onto Shimmery White Cardstock.  Color with an Aqua Painter and colors listed above.  Snip out the images with a Paper Snips.
  6. Cut a thin strip of Chicken Wire.  Color the white side with an Old Olive Stampin’ Blend.  Adhere with a small amount of Snail Adhesive.
  7. Stamp the sentiment in Versamark Ink onto Basic Black Cardstock.  Cover with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, flick to clear the excess, and set with a Heat Tool. Snip with a Paper Snips.
  8. Adhere all images with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Look at those AMAZING fonts in the sentiments of the Country Home Stamp Set!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

The watercolor images can easily be created by using Shimmery White Cardstock, Jet Black StazOn Ink, and an Aqua Painter.  Add color in levels.  Higher levels of water, covering the entire image, let dry completely.  Repeat, decreasing water usage and concentrating on shading areas. This results in a great watercolor effect created with ease.

I just LOVE the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the 2018 Holiday Catalog!  It adds a subtle dimension that makes the handmade card or creation jump up a level.  Pair it with the fun Chicken Wire Element and you have a recipe for fabulousness.

The last few days I have been showing some love to product from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  With new catalogs coming out shortly after the Annual Catalog is launched, I feel like some of the products do not get the love they deserve.  Painted Harvest is one of my favorite stamp sets.  When it debuted in the 2017 Holiday Catalog, I created so many cards that I absolutely loved.  Since fall is now upon us, I figured what better what to bring it back!

The Bright Copper Shimmer Paint is THE BOMB!  It brings a creation to a whole new level…and it is so easy to use.  Just give it a shake, grab a Sponge Dauber, dab it into the cap (adding more paint to the cap if needed) and apply directly to the stamp.  After you are finished stamping, wash the stamp off with a mild detergent and then condition with Stampin’ Mist!

GDP157 Color Challenge – First Frost Congrats

First Frost Bundle by Stampin' Up! Handmade Congratulations Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! for #gdp157 Color Challenge. #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Happy Monday Everyone! GDP157

The Global Design Project has a gorgeous color challenge for you this week!  Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron, and Grapefruit Grove. They are colors that appear in two of my favorite suites of product:  Frosted Floral and Nature’s Poem.  Since Frosted Floral is in the 2018 Holiday Catalog and currently my Suite of the Month Special, I decided to inspire you with another congratulations card using the First Frost Bundle.

First Frost Bundle by Stampin' Up! Handmade Congratulations Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! for #gdp157 Color Challenge. #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″.  Score and fold at 5 1/2″.
  2. Cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock to a 4″ square.  On a Silicone Mat, mix a dollop of Shimmery White Embossing Paste with a few drops of Mint Macaron Ink Refill.  Cover the cardstock with the Brick Decorative Mask and spread a thin layer of paste with a Palette Knife. Let dry completely then zip through the Big Shot with the large die from the Detailed Baubles Thinlits Dies.
  3. Create several large loops of the Silver Metallic Thread around your hand, remove and adhere to the back of the embossed piece.  Adhere to the cardstock with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  4. Use the greenery dies from the Frosted Boquet Framelits Die Set and crop several pieces using Mint Macaron Cardstock. Set aside.
  5. Color the large rose stamp center with a Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Write Marker and the outside with the Grapefruit Grove Stampin’ Write Marker.  Spritz lightly with water from a Stampin’ Spritzer.  Stamp 3 times onto Shimmery White Cardstock (without reinking, spritz if needed).  Crop with the Big Shot and coordinating die.
  6. Stamp the largest stemmed flower in Grapefruit Grove.  Cut apart to only utilize the ends.
  7. Stamp the berry image in Blackberry Bliss onto Shimmery White Cardstock.  Crop with the rectangle die.
  8. Stamp the “congratulations” sentiment in Mint Macaron Classic Ink and snip with a Paper Snips.
  9. Piece and adhere (with Stampin’ Dimensionals & Snail Adhesive) all pieces together as shown.
  10. Add Faceted Dots for a final touch.

Adding your color of ink to the Shimmery White Embossing Paste makes it so versatile. I love how well the shimmer stands out even after adding drops of Mint Macaron to it.  It dries quickly and is so easy to use…do you have it in your craft room?

First Frost Bundle by Stampin' Up! Handmade Congratulations Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! for #gdp157 Color Challenge. #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

All the pieces from the First Frost Bundle pair so well together.  I can easily build a focal point by piecing together the die cuts.  I cut them down as needed since I was placing them behind the larger pieces…fewer runs through the Big Shot really saves time when creating.

#GDP156 – Stitched All Around Wedding Card

Stitched All Around Bundle by Stampin' Up! Best Wishes Wedding Card by Stesha Bloodhart Stampin' Hoot! for #GDP156 Case the Designer

Happy Monday Everyone!

The Global Design Project has an amazing challenge for you this week!  CASE = Copy and Selectively Edit the talented designer Kerstin Kreis.  Although my card looks quite a bit different than hers, I took my inspiration from the flowers (Love What You Do) and using an embossing folder for my background (Tufted).

I had a wedding on Saturday for my cousin and their colors were Navy Blue and Dark Gray…so I based my card on the colors for the wedding and went from there.

GDP155 – Theme Challenge – School Days

Hand Delivered and Pick a Pennant Stamp Sets by Stampin' Up! for a school days theme for #GDP155 Theme Challenge #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Happy Monday Everyone!

The Global Design Project is sporting a Theme Challenge this week, which just happens to be “school days”.  My 9-year-old son Preston (a.k.a. P1) and 6-year-old son Parker (a.k.a. P2) just had their first week of 4th and 1st grade!  They love school and were happy to be back. My husband and I are so proud of them and I decided to make a card to give them, so they know.  I used the Hand Delivered Host Set and their school colors!

Step-by-Step Instructions: COMING SOON!

What can I say, Stampin’ Blends are AMAZING and I love coloring with them!  I used to watercolor everything, now I tend to grab my Blends.  To coordinate with P1 and P2’s school colors, I used the following:  Night of Navy Combo Pack, Mango Melody Combo Pack, Smoky Slate Combo Pack, Real Red Combo Pack, Call Me Clover Dark.

The Best Route Suite of Products just happens to be the same color scheme as their school colors, so the Designer Series Paper and Enamel Shapes were the perfect addition to the Hand Delivered Stamp Set.

The Pick a Pennant Stamp Set was used to personalize the card for P1 (Preston) and P2 (Parker). The coordinating thinlits dies makes it quick and easy to crop out the pennant with the aid of the Big Shot and Magnetic Platform.

My trusty Paper Snips was used to snip out the books and sign, which were adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to make them pop!   I love the way this card turned out and I cannot wait to give it to my sons to show them how proud I am1
