As part of the Stampin’ Pretty Pals Community (Mary Fish’s Amazing Team), we have a monthly virtual gathering on Facebook and January’s was a SUPER FUN Mystery Stamping Party! Clue #1 was gather your supplies, this was given before the party started. Then throughout the gathering, another 9 clues were given, and everyone shared their creations after! It was so much fun.
The Flowering Fields Suite Collection is one of my favorites but I haven’t really taken the time to work with it yet. I tend to focus on backgrounds or coloring so building an image with just stamping falls to the wayside. This card brought that to the forefront and reminded me that stamping is beautiful and the core of what we do.
I don’t make fun folds very often, but the dutch door is so easy. After you create your card base, you cut a piece from the top front. That piece is what I used to stamp my image on. Nothing goes to waste and you end up with a unique card that catches the eye.
Begin by cutting a piece of Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Score and fold at 4 1/4.
Use a Paper Trimmer to cut a 4 1/4 (width) x 2 1/2 (height) piece from the front of card base. (Set this piece aside, you will use it later).
Adhere a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock to a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Poppy Parade Cardstock together and to the INSIDE of the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Adhere a 4 x 2 3/4 piece of Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper to the bottom half of the front of the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Take the 4 1/4 x 2 1/2 piece of Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock that you previously cut from the card base and stamp the Flowering Tulips images in Mossy Meadow (leafs and stems), Poppy Parade (tulip petals, stamp the bottom layers on scrap paper first so they are lighter than the top layers), Early Espresso (tulip centers).
Adhere the stamped image to a 2 3/4 x 4 1/2 piece of Poppy Parade Cardstock. Double wrap with Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine, securing with a bow as shown. Adhere to the bottom half of the front of the card base panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. (Do not add dimensionals to the top portion).
Stamp the sentiment in Early Espresso Classic Ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Crop with a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Warm Wraps circle die. Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Embellish with Very Vanilla Classic Matte Dots.
Adhere a 2 3/8 x 5 3/4 piece of Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper to the outside flap of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I loved creating the first one so much that I decided to make a second one with a little twist. My house is full of sports fanatics so the Hey Sports Fan Suite was a must-have for me and I LOVE IT. The Hey Sports Fan Designer Series Paper coordinates with the Sports Event Dies, which makes up the front of the card.
Begin by cutting a piece of Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Score and fold at 4 1/4.

Take the 4 1/4 x 2 1/2 piece of Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock that you previously cut from the card base and crop it with a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the large Sports Event Die.
Adhere the cropped piece to a 2 3/4 x 4 1/2 piece of Evening Evergreen Cardstock.Wrap with Evening Evergreen Fan Baker’s Twine, securing with a bow as shown. Adhere to the bottom half of the front of the card base panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. (Do not add dimensionals to the top portion).
Use a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to crop the two images from the Hey Sport Fan Designer Series Paper with the coordinating Sports Event Dies. Adhere as shown with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp the sentiment in Evening Evergreen Classic Ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Crop with a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Warm Wraps circle die. Adhere to the inside of the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Embellish with Evening Evergreen Resin Stars.
Adhere a 2 3/8 x 5 3/4 piece of Hey Sports Fan Designer Series Paper to the outside flap of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I love that a dutch door fun fold card makes me think about adding a sentiment to the inside. I tend to forget about the inside…anyone else?
