TGIF! It’s time for a COLOR Challenge!
When I first saw this color combination, it intimidated me. I wasn’t sure if I liked it or how I wanted to present it. I have so many stamp sets and bundles that have not had their chance to shine. Today, the Sweet Symmetry Suite Collection takes its turn pairing up with Soft Sea Foam, Smoky Slate, and Calypso Coral.
Begin by using a Paper Trimmer to cut a piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock to 4 1/4 x 11 . Score and fold at 5 1/2.
Adhere a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Smoky Slate Cardstock to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Adhere a 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 piece of Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper to the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Add three drops of Soft Sea Foam Classic Ink Refill to a dollop of Embossing Paste. Mix with a Palette Knife. Apply to a 3 x 4 piece of Basic White Cardstock that has been placed on a Silicone Craft Sheet and covered with the coordinating Plenty of Patterns Decorative Mask.
Adhere a 3 1/8 x 4 1/8 piece of Basic White Cardstock, a 3 1/8 x 4 1/8 piece of Smoky Slate Cardstock, and the embossed piece together as shown with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Double wrap with White Baker’s Twine, securing with a bow. Adhere to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Add a watercolor wash of Smoky Slate Classic Ink to a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with a Water Painter. Crop with a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the largest Layering Circles Dies. Adhere to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp the flowers, leaves, and stems from the In Symmetry Stamp Set in Calypso Coral and Soft Sea Foam Classic Ink onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Use a Water Painter to blend the ink. Snip closely with Paper Snips. Adhere as shown with Mini Glue Dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp the Thank So Much sentiment in Versamark Ink onto a piece of Smoky Slate Cardstock. Cover with White Basics Embossing Powder. Gently tap to remove the excess and set with a Heat Tool. Snip closely with Paper Snips. Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Embellish with Calypso Coral Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
What is your favorite way to emboss? Dry embossing with an embossing folder? Heat embossing with embossing powder and a Heat Tool? or Embossing Paste? I love the texture that they all bring to a project. I use Heat Embossing the most to make my sentiments POP, but I love the uniqueness and feel of the embossing paste.
