Welcome to my 3-D Thursday Blog Feature! Gourd Goodness Mini Pizza Box of Thanks!
So several things in the 2017 Holiday Catalog have grabbed my attention and most have made it to my doorstep. I knew immediately when I saw the Mini Pizza Boxes that I just had to have them! (so have several others). How can you not love a little box that resembles a favorite American food? Even better, it can safely hold food! Perfectly sized for a couple cookies, some candy, you name it!
Today I filled my Gourd Goodness Mini Pizza Box with 3 x 3 Autumn Themed Thank You Cards and Coordinating Envelopes! When I first saw the Gourd Goodness Photopolymer Stamp Set, it didn’t jump out at me…but the more I saw it, the more it grew on me and I had to order it. I love the picturesque look they create when stamped with your favorite fall color.
I decorated the top of the Mini Pizza Box quite heavily with Gourd Goodness. I started with a Delicate White Doily. I quickly turned it to an Always Artichoke Doily with my Ink Pad and Sponge Brayer. I adhered that directly to the box cover with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I took some Tear Tape Adhesive and added two strips to the top of the Doily so that I could loop and adhered some of the all new Jute Twine that would neatly hide and peek out from under the maple leaves, pumpkins and gourds.
The images were stamped in the following Classic Ink Colors. The 2-Steps of each image were inked with the same color, I just stamped on my Grid Paper first before applying the less detailed image to the Whisper White Cardstock. The more detailed image was stamped in full color.
- Maple Leaves : Cajun Craze Classic Ink
- Pumpkins : Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink
- Pumpkin Stems and Large Gourds : Always Artichoke Classic Ink
- Small Gourds : Crushed Curry Classic Ink
- Thank Goodness for You Sentiment : Cajun Crazy
All Images were fussy cut with Paper Snips and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also added a little more Jute Twine behind the snipped sentiment.
All 3 x 3 Note Cards were created from pieces of Whisper White 8.5 x 11 Thick Cardstock. They were cut to 3 in x 6 in and scored / folded at 3 in. They neatly tuck inside the Whisper White 3 x 3 Envelopes also available in the 2017 Holiday Catalog. I created 5 cards and coordinating envelopes but you can easily fit more in the box if you so wish to.
On the lower-hand left corner of each envelope, I stamped part of a coordinating image from the Thank You Card. I love to create that coordination between the two and do so on many of my cards and creations.
Each card has fussy cut images that are adhered with Fast Fuse Adhesive and Stampin’ Dimensionals to give that extra depth. I have a hard time with a flat card…not saying they are not beautiful, I am just a sucker for that dimension.
The Linen Thread added a nice Autumn feel to each of the cards. It doesn’t take much to make a statement with Linen Thread.
On these smaller gourds I decided to mix up the color and stamp Crushed Curry together with Cajun Craze. I really like the multi-colored look. I also stamped a few directly on the card so that it felt like the bunch of gourds was right in front of you.
On this card, I just stamped the more detailed image directly on the card and left out the 2nd stamp to have more of a white background. I did add the second stamp to the fussy cut images.
With the pumpkins, I stamped the image twice and cut the small pumpkin out by himself and added to the card. Since I still have the large pumpkin left, I added him to the bottom corner of the envelope and cut off the extra overhand. It was a great way to still use both pumpkins on the projects.
