Welcome to the Pals September 2017 Blog Hop!
Thank you so much for joining us today. This month our theme is “My Favorite Holiday”. Sit back and enjoy the view while the Pals treat you with projects for the upcoming Autumn and Winter holidays.
Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.
As you can see by my card creation, ‘My Favorite Holiday’ is Christmas! I was so excited when Stampin’ Up! announced the release of the Hostess Only Set “Merry Patterns”! I instantly fell in love with the images and had to have it! I just got my order on Monday and couldn’t wait to start creating with it!
I stuck with my go-to watercolor wash background which was created with Shimmery White Cardstock, an Aqua Painter, and Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink. I spray the Shimmery White Cardstock with water from a Stampin’ Spritzer first so that the ink spreads evenly and doesn’t soak in immediately. After I let the first application of water and color dry, I add another in just a few areas. Then I grab a lot of color with the Aqua Painter and gently tap it while holding it over the cardstock to get the dark splatters. This time I also grabbed my Whisper White Craft Reinker and added splatters of white on top of the Cherry Cobbler.
A Foil Snowflake (one of my favorite items in the 2017 Holiday Catalog) was flipped on its backside and colored with a Emerald Envy Stampin’ Write Marker. I love that you can make a snowflake of any color to coordinate with the project of your choice. All images and sentiments I used on this card are from the Merry Patterns Stamp Set. I stamped them on Whisper White Cardstock using Cherry Cobbler, Emerald Envy, Crushed Curry and Basic Black Archival Ink. Stampin’ Up! has done a wonderful job making it easy to add color in this 2-step stamp set!
Here is a clear look at everything that is included in the Merry Patterns Stamp Set. My first intention was to use the deer as I am smitten over it, but in the end, my card was better without it…so he will just present himself on a later creation!
Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on October 11, 2017 for “Wicked Folds”. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. Don’t forget to leave us a comment. We’d love to hear what you have to say about our Favorite Holiday. BTW, what’s your favorite holiday?
