It’s Friday! Time for another TGIF Challenge! This week it’s a sketch, which made for a quick and easy card! I decided to dig into my stash of items from the upcoming 2018 Occasions Catalog, available January 2, 2018! #tgifc137
The Beautiful Day Stamp set consists of 5 stamps. 3 Images and 2 sentiments. The flower and butterfly images are perfect for coloring with the New Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. I used the Light and Dark Rich Razzleberry, Light Night of Navy and Light and Dark Old Olive on my flower.
Such a simple sketch that can be used to portray stunning results. I sometimes have a hard time keeping my cards simple, so it is nice to have a sketch to follow that keeps me from going over and above….making my followers feel the design is out of their reach…I promise you, this one is well within your reach!
The Designer Series Paper I used on my card is from the Petal Passion Suite of Products, also from the upcoming 2018 Occasions Catalog! It may be my 2nd Favorite DSP of all times (Wood Textures is my #1). It is Double Sided and Black & White ready for you to add any color you need. SO versatile.
When coloring the flower with the Stampin’ Blends, I started with the Light Night of Navy, adding it to the inside lines to create the look of shadows and depth. The next color I added was the Dark Rich Razzleberry, leaving white on the outer edges. Next, I used the Light Rich Razzleberry, filling in the remaining white areas and also going over the previous colored areas to help blend out the hard lines.
My strips of DSP were cut to 1 in x 4 3/4 in and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I didn’t like the amount of space between my DSP Strips and Card Base so I added a 2nd Layer of Whisper White Thick Cardstock to give it a bit more dimension. I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment with Basic Black Archival Ink, the fussy cut it out to get just the “Happy Birthday” portion of the sentiment.
I felt the Black Rhinestone Jewels were the perfect accent to finish up my card. These are retiring so if you have your eye on them, order them NOW as I don’t think they will last through January 2, 2018.
I truly hope that my design inspires you to play along with us at TGIF Challenges! Even if you don’t play along, at least pop on over and check out the fabulous design from the Design Team and those that do choose to play!

Stesha, your card is magnificent. Your blending skills are perfect. The depth you achieved is so realistic.
Thank you so much, I have been using the Blends a lot and starting to get the hang of them!
Love this SO much!
What size is this card? It seems square and not the usual A2 size.
