#GDP146 Sketch Challenge : In Every Season
Happy Monday Everyone!
The Global Design Project has an awesome sketch challenge for you this week! My MIL turned 79 on Friday so I used this sketch to make a card showcasing all of her favorite flowers, which are all a part of the In Every Season Stamp Set. I used a piece of the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper, part of the Buy 3 Get 1 FREE sale, as part of my card base!
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″. Score and fold at 5 1/2″.
- Cut a piece of Garden Impressions 6×6 Designer Series Paper to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Cut a piece of So Saffron Cardstock to 3 3/8″ x 4 1/8″.
- Cut a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to 3 1/2″ x 4″. Smooch with Old Olive Classic Ink. (Click to download a tutorial on the Smooching Technique). Adhere to the So Saffron with Snail Adhesive.
- Punch a strip of So Saffron Cardstock with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch, then cut to 3 1/2″ Wide.
- Cut a piece of Mango Melody Cardstock to 3/4″ x 3 1/3″. Adhere the So Saffron Ribbon Border to the backside with Snail Adhesive. Adhere to Shimmery White with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Cut a piece of Old Olive 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon to 9″. Wrap around as shown and secure with a bow. Adhere to card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Stamp 3 flowers from the In Every Season stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Whisper White Thick Cardstock. Color with Stampin’ Blends. Snip with a Paper Snips and adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Using the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Hand Delivered Hostess Set, stamp in Old Olive Ink as shown. Tip: Mask the half of the sentiment you do not want to stamp with Washi Tape. Make sure to remove the Washi Tape prior to stamping onto the card. Repeat to finish the sentiment.
- Add 3 Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins for the final touch.
I love the Smooching Technique and this time I used a lot of ink on a little surface. I covered the entire image with my first application of ink, let it dry completely, then added a few more dark spots for detail. I love the way it looks, so pretty!

Love this card. Looks like you did a lot of fussy cutting!
Compared to other cards that I create, the fussy cutting was minimal 🙂 but since it is my therapy, I love doing it.
