Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!
This month’s theme is Orange Theory. The Pals hope to inspire you with creations using the color orange today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I created a simple card with Artful Amaryllis, a stunning bundle from Stampin’ Up! By sticking to a single layer, I let the vibrant color-matched strips and delicate amaryllis petals take center stage, bringing all the attention to the beauty of the design.
what is an amaryllis?
An amaryllis is a striking, bulbous plant known for its tall, elegant stems and large, trumpet-shaped flowers. Each flower reveals intricate petals that often display rich hues of red, soft pinks, or creamy whites, sometimes kissed with streaks of contrasting colors. Whether displayed in a minimalist vase or blooming in a garden bed, an artful amaryllis captures the essence of grace and beauty, making it a living masterpiece.
orange theory: an ombre of hues with 1/4″ strips
When is comes to orange, Stampin’ Up! offers a plethora of options. I paired three of my favorite oranges to create an ombre effect with 1/4″ strips of card stock, but there are so many more possibilities! With the NEW Stampin’ Up! Color Coach (more info below), seeing all the orange hues (in one place) is easy! In the mean time, take a look a the “color theory” section on pages 132-133 of the Annual Catalog for immediate inspiration!
card tutorial: make this simple card with artful amaryllis
- Begin with a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock. Score and fold at 5 1/2 (portrait style card).
- Cut 6 x 1/4 strips of the following colors of cardstock: Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Lost Lagoon, and Pretty Peacock.
- Use Paper Snips to trim the strips so they are flush with the edge of the card base.
- Adhere to the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue leaving approx. 3/4 open in the upper right and bottom left corners.
- Position and stamp the sentiments in Petal Pink Classic Ink as shown.
- Use a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine along with the two Artful Amaryllis petal dies to crop the following colors of cardstock: Pretty Peacock, Petal Pink and Cajun Craze.
- Adhere together with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals as shown.
- Embellish with Petal Pink Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots.

coming soon! stampin’ up! color coach!
The Color Coach is Stampin’ Up!’s version of the color wheel and is based on color theory—the combination of art and science that determines what colors look good together.
One side of the Color Coach has all current Stampin’ Up! colors (except Neutrals) laid out with a spinning wheel in the center. This center wheel gives you monochromatic, complementary, analogous, and triadic information about our colors. The back explains each of these concepts, plus our range of neutral colors.
