Cast Your Vote! Kylie’s Blog Highlights – A Teacher’s Gift!

This afternoon I am participating in the wonderful Kylie Bertucci’s, Austrailia’s Number One Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, International Stampin’ Up! Blog Highlights!  Every month, Kylie pulls together a group of Stampin’ Up! Enthusiasts, picks a theme and highlights their creations on her blog! She enables viewers to cast their vote (up to 5 different) on their favorite creation in the line-up! The top 10 picks get to take part in a blog hop with Kylie!  What an honor, huh?

This month’s theme is: A Teacher’s Gift. Since my baby goes to Kindergarten this year, I thought it would be fun to make a piece of canvas wall art his teacher could hang in her classroom. I used a couple of my FAVORITE items from Stampin’ Up!: Letters for You Photopolymer Stamp Set, Coordinating Large Letters Framelits Dies, Number of Years Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Coordinating Large Numbers Framelits Dies. I use them all the time!  They are well worth the investment!  Cards, Scrapbook Pages, 3-D Items, Wall Art!  So versatile! The Birthday Memories Suite was the perfect color and theme that I needed to create my Teacher’s Gift!

What do you think?  I LOVE the bright colors and the fun nostalgic animals.  Since the animals were already printed on the DSP, all I needed to do was crop them out with coordinating dies or fussy cut them with paper snips. It helped to cut my time down in creating this piece!  I started with a white piece of canvas that I colored with Basic Black Archival Ink and the Sponge Brayer.  All letters were stamped first in Classic Ink, then stamped again with Versamark and Heat Embossed with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

So that being said:

I would be ever so humbled if you were to Vote for Me! #25

The photo above is a view of the piece hanging on a wall in our house!  You can put the flagged banner on top or bottom, both work well!  I created the flagged pieces by cutting 1 in x 4 in strips of the DSP, flagging the ends with the Banner Triple Punch and then gluing the pieces together over the top of the Basic Black Solid Bakers Twine. The small pieces were the leftover pieces from flagging the ends.

I hope you enjoy what you see!  I sure enjoy making and sharing them with everyone. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or leave a comment on this post.
