Case the Catty: Pals Blog Hop – February 2018
WELCOME!
Welcome to the Pals February 2018 Blog Hop. Our theme this month is Case the Catty. The Stampin’ Pretty Pals will copy or remake projects from any of the current Stampin’ Up! catalogs and brochures. After all, who doesn’t CASE (Copy and Share Everything) once in a while? You may be just starting or hopped over from another Pal. In either case, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.
Ok, so I got a little carried away with creations, but when your CASE (Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit) things go a little quicker than starting from scratch. Things were rolling well, so I continued to create and ended at 5 projects to share with you! None of them are CASEd 100%, I just CASEd elements of a creation from the catalog.
The first card that I CASEd is a creation from the Flying Home Stamp Set. I love to watercolor with Classic Inks and an Aqua Painter. I prefer to smooch the cover of the Ink Pad to the Foam, which creates a palette of ink for me to grab with my Aqua Painter. This keeps the amount of ink at a manageable level and you can easily add more for shading, etc.
I had yet to ink up my Waterfront Stamp Set, so I added it to my pile of “Need to Use” stamp sets. I liked the colors and layout of the card on the right (samples in the catalog), so that is the element that I decided to CASE. I am amazed at how quick and easy it is to make beautiful creations with a watercolored look! Anyone can do this, I promise you! The stamp artists have made it easy! Thank you, thank you!
I rarely make landscape style cards, but I love everyone that I create. Bermuda Bay is one of my favorite colors that Stampin’ Up! offers. The FREE Sale-a-Bration Shimmer Ribbon Pack contains a thin strand of Bermuda Bay Shimmer Ribbon and I wanted to use it on my card, so I decided to run with Bermuda Bay and Very Vanilla as my color palette!
The images in “A Good Day” stamp set are just the cutest! I had yet to use the stamp set and decided since Easter is coming up, I would use that adorable little rabbit and CASE the layout from the catalog. I thought I would show the effect of coloring with the Stampin’ Write Markers, instead of the Aqua Painter, since I use an Aqua Painter on most of my creations.
I hadn’t created with the Magical Day Bundle in quite some time, since October in fact. It needed some love and I was willing to give it. I had been eyeing up that castle and so badly wanted to CASE it, but didn’t have the time. So I decided to attempt a smaller version and just apply some of the elements to a card.
Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on March 14, 2018. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below.
