#GDP147 : Country Farm Life with Heartland
I wasn’t able to get a post written earlier this week for the GDP147 Theme Challenge: Country/ Farm Life! I had my card all ready but I just didn’t have the time for a post until now.
The Heartland stamp set is the perfect stamp set for this challenge and one that is great to color with Stampin’ Blends!
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11 “. Score and fold at 5 1/2”.
- Cut a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. Stamp the barn image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto the top half. Color with Stampin’ Blends.
- Stamp the boy and tractor images in Tuxedo Black Momento Ink onto Whisper White Thick Cardstock. Color with Stampin’ Blends and crop with the Stitched Circle Framelits Dies and a Big Shot.
- Stampin’ Blends Needed: Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler, Light and Dark Old Olive, Light and Dark Soft Suede, Light and Dark Smoky Slate, Light and Dark Night of Navy, Light Pool Party, Light Pumpkin Pie.
- The tires of the tractor were colored with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
- Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment (from Perennial Birthday Stamp Set) using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Crop with the Stitched Circle Framelit Die.
- Place the circles as shown, cutting straight edges where needed to fit the card. Adhere with Snail Adhesive and Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I love these images, they remind me of my childhood. My grandparents had a dairy farm and we had a small horse farm. The “H” tractor and the neighbor’s geese are still fresh in my mind. Coloring these images takes me back…but also makes me miss my father and grandfather.
