The Stamp Review Crew Brings You Inspiration for the Wood Words Stamp Set!

Welcome to another blog hop with the Stamp Review Crew!  Today’s featured stamp set is the fabulous Wood Words!  I am crazy-mad over the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack.   I am on my 3rd pack and use it on almost all my creations!  I love rustic and the Wood Textures Suite of Product calls to me on so many levels!

Not sure why, but I always gravitate to Bermuda Bay as my color choice when using the Wood Words Stamp Set.  I love how it looks against the Wood Textures DSP and Crumb Cake.  I used the Picture Perfect Paper Ribbon, a new product from the upcoming 2018 Occasions Catalog, to add some Bermuda Bay fringe to my layout!

I used my Sponge Brayer to add color, in Bermuda Bay, to the Delicate White Doily I used in both corners of my card. Do you like?

I added three Rhinestone Basic Jewels and a tad of Wood Textures DSP punched out with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch. The flagged ends were easily obtained by using the Banner Tripple Punch!

Santa’s Sleigh Oh Joy for GDP 115 Theme Challenge

Santa's Sleigh Photopolymer Stamp Set and Coordinating Framelits for Global Design Project 115 Theme Challenge, Christmas Joy. Card created by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #gdp115 #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot #santassleigh

It’s Monday and I have to say I am so happy it’s here!  Thanksgiving was packed full of family fun and I am exhausted and ready for a fresh start, although this week may be as busy as the last :).  Having a theme to follow helped me quickly create a card for today’s post.

GDP115 Theme Christmas Joy

I love creating Christmas Themed Paper Crafts!  The color combinations are one of my favorite and the images always make me smile!

I decided to pull out one of my favorite Christmas Sets from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog.  Santa’s Sleigh Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Coordinating Santa’s Sleigh Framelits Dies.  The card I had shared previously: Santa’s Sleigh Christmas Card is at the top of my list for favorite Christmas Cards.  So I wanted to try this same set only in a more rustic theme.  So I pulled out my Crumb Cake Cardstock and the Wood Textures DSP Stack and went to work.

Santa's Sleigh Photopolymer Stamp Set and Coordinating Framelits for Global Design Project 115 Theme Challenge, Christmas Joy. Card created by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #gdp115 #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot #santassleigh

I stamped the images in Tuxedo Black Momento Ink onto Crumb Cake Cardstock and colored them with my Stampin’ Blends Premier Alcohol Markers.
Tip: Be sure to crop the images with your Big Shot, Magnetic Platform and Coordinating Framelits Dies prior to coloring. This way if the first crop gets mucked up, you haven’t ruined an imaged you spent a lot of time coloring.  I have learned the hard way :).

The card dimensions are 8 inches wide x 4 inches tall.  I love the portrait orientation for cards that have a lot of images…especially ones that work well in a line.

I cut the Cherry Cobbler Cardstock 1/4 inch smaller than the Card Base (Crumb Cake).  I took two matching pieces of the Wood Textures DSP, cut them both down to a 3 5/8 wide, making sure to get the same print for each piece.  I then cut one piece down to 2 inches wide so that it would span the 7 3/8 inches needed. I used the cropped tree to cover my seam.

I colored each image with the following Stampin’ Blends:

  • Star – Dark Daffodil Delight
  • Tree – Light and Dark Old Olive, Bronze
  • Sleigh – Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Bronze, Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler
  • Reindeer – Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Bronze
  • Presents – Dark Old Olive, Dark Cherry Cobbler

I stamped the Oh Joy Sentiment (from the Watercolor Christmas Stamp Set) in Basic Black Archival Ink onto Crumb Cake Cardstock then snipped it out with my Paper Snips. The Merry Christmas Wishes Sentiment (from Santa’s Sleigh) was also fussy cut with my Paper Snips.

I alternated Mini Glue Dots and Mini / Regular Stampin’ Dimensionals as my adheisve to give my card lots of dimension.

Congratulations On Your New Home Card

Another card with the At Home With You Bundle!  The perfect card to give a family / friend to congratulate them on their new home! Have I convinced you that this bundle is a must have?  It has so many possibilities, I am so excited that it is part of my collection. I have made several cards, with and without doors, all occasions.  And how cute is that door that actually opens?

This card also features one of my favorite coloring mediums:  Shimmery White Cardstock and my trusty Aqua Painter that I cannot live without! It’s my go-to and I have several creations that bear the stunning results of using this pairing.

Several of our Textured Impressions Embossing Folders pair well with this bundle.  I used the Brick Wall Textued Impressions Embossing folder, along with Shimmery White Cardstock, highlighting the ‘cracks’ using Soft Suede Classic Ink paired with my Aqua Painter.

The door is colored in Cajun Craze, so bright and beautiful!  A color that I feel doesn’t get enough attention, but then again, I am an earth-tone girl.

A Simple Thanks With At Home With You

A Simple Thanks With The At Home With You Bundle by Stampin' Up! Created by Stesha Bloodhart, See Details at Stampin' Hoot! #athomewithyou #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot #thankyoucard

I don’t often create simple cards, but sometimes simplicity is perfect.  I also love papercrafts with a rustic feel and this portrays that feeling well.  Day One of OnStage in Salt Lake City has come to an end…I am happy to be off my feet and in a cozy bed :).  It was so much fun seeing people that I often chat with online.  It’s nice to finally put a voice to a face and meet everyone that is as passionate about this craft as I am. We were showered with gifts, ideas and lots of exciting news that I cannot wait to share with you when I can,

A Simple Thanks With The At Home With You Bundle by Stampin' Up! Created by Stesha Bloodhart, See Details at Stampin' Hoot! #athomewithyou #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot #thankyoucard

This card was fairly quick to create.

  • I cut my standard, go-to, card base of 4 1/4 in x 11 in and scored/folded at 5 1/2 in. in Whisper White Cardstock.
  • I then cut the 2nd Layer of Whisper White 1/4 in smaller than the base, wrapped a piece of 5/8 in. Burlap Ribbon around it and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I ran a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock through my Big Shot with the Stitched Shaped Oval Framelit. I added Fast Fuse Adhesive to the backside and then added loops of Linen Thread to it before adhering to the 2nd Layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I stamped the images from the At Home With You Stamp Set in Basic Black Archival Ink on Shimmery White Cardstock and colored them with Classic Ink and an Aqua Painter.  They adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Pumpkins:  Pumpkin Pie and Always Artichoke
    • Planter: Crumb Cake and Early Espresso
    • Flowers:  Crushed Curry, Early Espresso and Always Artichoke
    • Sign: Crumb Cake
  • I added three Pumpkin Pie Enamel Shapes to the card as the final touch.

Tip: After adding the first layer of color with an Aqua Painter, wait for it to dry and add a second layer of color to get dimension.

Grateful for the At Home With You Bundle

At Home With You Bundle Autumn Scene and Grateful Sign by Stampin' Hoot! Stesha Bloodhart #stampinup #stampinhoot #steshabloodhart

Currently, I am in the air, on my way to Salt Lake City for Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage Event.  Three days of gatherings with other fellow demonstrators to view upcoming products, learn business tips and tricks and have fun.  I have met so many wonderful people virtually and now I finally get to have the chance to meet them in person! I will try to bring you posts as I am away, but they may be scarce depending on the fun factor of Salt Lake.

Today I bring you another card using the At Home With You Bundle from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. This was created for the InkBig Academy Design Team and I am excited to now share it with you!

I rarely create cards with one layer, but the amazing Embossing Paste gives enough definition that I feel multiple layers are not needed. For this card, I mixed the Embossing Paste with a few drops of Crumb Cake Classic Ink. I wanted the brick wall to coordinate with the Crumb Cake 3/8 in Classic Weave Ribbon, which was wrapped around the Card Front and secured with a knot.

I stamped the images with Basic Black Archival Ink and added color with my trusty Aqua Painter.  The colors used are as follows:

  • Door, Sign, and Planter: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede & Early Espresso
  • Sunflowers: Always Artichoke, Crushed Curry, & Early Espresso
  • Pumpkins: Pumpkin Pie & Always Artichoke

All images adhered to the Card Base with Stampin’ Dimensionals

You’ve Got This – Fortieth Birthday and Stampin’ Blends

You’ve Got This – Fortieth Birthday and Stampin’ Blends

The time has come to start creating birthday cards that will be in abundance soon, as my High School friends/classmates (and myself) close in on the age of 40!  My cousin and one of my closest friends turned 40 years old yesterday! Her husband threw her a surprise birthday party this past Saturday, which we were more than happy to attend.  It was a successful surprise and I was able to catch up with family I hadn’t seen in awhile.

I needed to make a card, but I didn’t want to do the traditional 40th Birthday in black.  I wanted to have black incorporated into the card, so I found the perfect piece of paper from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper Pack.  I decided to mute it by placing a piece of Vellum over the top of it but letting it peak out the edges.  I also decided to soften it by using Crumb Cake as the Card Base and accent piece.

The flower from the You’ve Got This Stamp Set was also stamped on Crumb Cake using the Tuxedo Black Momento Ink and then colored with the Fabulous New Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. I highly recommend using Crumb Cake with the Stampin’ Blends. It softens the colors and blends so very nicely. I used Light and Dark Old Olive, Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler, Dark Daffodil Delight and Light Pumpkin Pie.  After coloring, I snipped the edges with my Paper Snips.

The Stitched Square was quickly cropped with the Big Shot and die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, one of my very favorite in my collection :).  After cropping it out, I then added Cherry Cobbler Ink using the Color Smooching Technique.  I adhered it to the Vellum with Stampin’ Dimensionals, over the top of the Linen Thread I had wrapped around the layers adhered to the Card Base.

After adhering the You’ve Got This Flower to the Crumb Cake Square (also with Stampin’ Dimensionals) I stamped the Happy Birthday, from the Milestone Moments Stamp Set, with Basic Black Archival Ink.  I then stamped the Fortieth in Versamark on Basic Black Cardstock and Heat Embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I trimmed it down and flagged the ends with the Banner Triple Punch.

I added a few Black Rhinestone Jewels, my favorite accessory, to the card to finish it off.

Here are the products I used to create this Fortieth Birthday Card:
