Spirited Snowmen Trio of Holiday Cards

Spirited Snowmen Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! A trio of Holiday Cards by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″.  Score and fold at 5 1/2″.
  2. Cut a piece of colored cardstock (I used Real Red or Shaded Spruce) to 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″. Adhere at a slant with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  3. Cut a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.  Smooch with Gray Granite Ink. (Click for Smooching Tutorial). Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  4. Using the Stamparatus, stamp positioning tool, stamp the snowman image (Spirited Snowmen Stamp Set) in Jet Black StazOn Ink onto Watercolor Paper.  Stamp as many times as needed for desired coverage.
  5. Add color to the snowmen with an Aqua Painter and Classic Inks.  I used Gray Granite (shading), Real Red, Shaded Spruce, Early Espresso.  I grabbed black ink by touching the Aqua Painter against the brush end of a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.  Snip the image with a Paper Snips.  Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  6. Stamp the sentiment in Versamark Ink onto colored cardstock.  Cover with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, flick to remove the excess. set with a Heat Tool. Snip apart with a Paper Snips and adhere with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  7. Add three Red Rhinestone Jewels for just the right touch of bling.

The snowmen from the Spirited Snowmen stamp set are just adorable.  I love the couple and the cute heart tucked in behind the snowmen’s stick arm. The sentiments are the perfect match for the images.  Just a great stamp set all around.

I thought Real Red paired perfectly with the snow couple.  The Gray Granite smooched onto Shimmery White Cardstock sets the stage for a beautiful snowfall.  I know it isn’t white, but I needed it to stand out and I feel it did the job well.

Shaded Spruce is a perfect green for Christmas. I don’t think I used it yet, but it may get a workout now that I see how perfect it is for Christmas cards. I am determined to send cards out this year…:).

This cute snowman reminds me of my boys and how much they love the snow…ok, maybe the first few snowfalls, etc…, the season could be just a tad shorter.  Enjoy a photo of their first snowman of 2018…the earliest snowman EVER…October 15th.

Winter Woods Masculine Birthday Card

Winter Woods Bundle by Stampin' Up! Masculine Birthday Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Today’s masculine birthday card is another product of my Northwoods retreat…do you think that being in a woodsy type setting for 4 days was an inspiration for my creations?  I sure do!  I promise I have a variety to share with you, but I just love this Winter Woods Masculine Birthday card so much that I couldn’t wait to share it with you.  No fancy techniques here, just a cut and paste kind of card.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. With a Stampin’ Trimmer, cut a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.  Score and fold at 4 1/4″.
  2. Using the Stamparatus (stamp positioning tool) stamp the Buffalo Check Background Stamp in Soft Suede Ink onto Soft Suede Cardstock.  Note: It may take a few applications to get the desired coverage. Cut to 5 1/4″ to 4 1/8″. Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  6. Add Linen Thread to the center of a True Gentlemen Button then secure to the corrugated cardstock as shown.
  7. Stamp two trees (Winter Woods) in Soft Suede ink onto Crumb Cake Cardstock. Crop with a Big Shot and the coordinating framelit die.
  8. Crop two twig images with the framelit and Crumb Cake Cardstock.  Adhere all as shown with Snail Adhesive and Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  9. Stamp the sentiment (Big Wishes Stamp Set) in Soft Suede Ink onto a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock.  Trim to size and adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Winter Woods Bundle by Stampin' Up! Masculine Birthday Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

Did you know: the tip of a petal from the Daisy Punch makes the perfect notch in the cardstock to slip in and hold a few wraps of Linen Thread?  It just happened to be sitting on my table when I created this card and as I was struggling to get the Linen Thread to sit where I wanted it…voilà, the notch was born.

I can’t get enough of that Buffalo Check background stamp.  It adds the perfect amount of rustic to this masculine card.

My most popular card on Pinterest!  The Buffalo Check and Winter Woods Christmas Card!  It has a similar look and feel to this card, only I used the classic red and black for my Buffalo Check.  You can see the original post here.

Jingle All The Way Holiday Card

Alpine Adventure and Winter Woods Bundles by Stampin' Up! Handmade Jingle All the Way Holiday Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

I was in Siren, WI this past weekend at a retreat where I was able to crank out 25 creations that I am getting ready to blog, in hopes to inspire you!  Winter Woods and Alpine Adventure take the stage for this Jingle All the Way Holiday Card.

Don’t you just love that birch tree background?  It is so easy to create just by stamping the image multiple times next to each other.  If you like, you can wait to cut the paper to size in case you like to trim according to how well it stamped.

The runner sled is one of my favorite die cuts from the holiday catalog.  It reminds me of my childhood.  We have a very large runner sled.  My dad would lay on the bottom, my three sisters and I would pile on top of him and fly down the hill.  My mom would drive the truck to the bottom and pick us up to do it over and over again!

I have started to use stitching in my creations, do you like?  I have had this little mini sewing machine for almost 15 years…and this is the first time I have used it on my creations (I have another one to share with you later this month).  I can’t wait to use it more, it wasn’t as hard as I was anticipating…since I bit the bullet and finally used it, I have a feeling you will see stitching quite a bit on future creations.

Alpine Adventure and Winter Woods Bundles by Stampin' Up! Handmade Jingle All the Way Holiday Card by Stesha Bloodhart, Stampin' Hoot! #steshabloodhart #stampinhoot

The True Gentlemen Buttons pair perfectly the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  Add a bow of Linen Thread and it is a great accent.  The Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels are just the pop of color that this card was in need of.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a Hoot-a-Riffic Day!
